If you’ve played the original on PSVR or its sequel on PSVR2, then you’ll know: Moss is an extraordinary experience.

A platformer designed around virtual reality, this series embeds you in its fantasy worlds with cutesy protagonist Quill, an adorable mouse armed with a sword.

Like the original Astro Bot Rescue Mission, these games are some of the very best campaigns you can play in VR, because they use the technology sparingly.

Both games are seated experiences where you can physically interact with the world, but all of the action takes place around you.

They’re so good, ultimately, that they deserve to be played by more people – and with talented dev Polyarc falling upon hard times (resulting in a round of recent layoffs), we can’t begrudge it bringing these games to flat screens.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic will combine both critically acclaimed virtual reality games into one seamless bundle, and “reimagine” the visuals for pancake play.

Ultimately, you are going to lose a little bit of the magic here, but we reckon these will remain very enjoyable games – even in this stripped back format.

If you can play them with PSVR2, then that’s what we’d recommend you do – but if that’s simply not an option for you, then we’re glad this new version is going to exist.

The release date is set for this summer, and we’d highly recommend you check it out. Quill is a cute protagonist, and the adventures are thoroughly enjoyable from start-to-finish.
