Trophy Hunters Urge Tomb Raider Collection Fans To Play PS4 Version

In case you missed it, the next batch of free PlayStation Plus titles for all Essential and up members is out, and after arguably three months of mediocrity, including back-to-back months with sports titles, things are finally shaping up for PlayStation owners.

That’s especially nice considering the fact that PlayStation fans were literally just hit with another wave of price hikes.

Video game consoles have never been less affordable than they are today.

For April, Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream are the headlining games, a nice trio that should have something for everyone. However, it’s Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered that has the attention of Trophy hunters in particular, and they have an urgent PSA for anyone who likes digital goodies.

Simply put: Don’t download the PlayStation 5 version of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered.

Why? It doesn’t have a Platinum Trophy.

Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 version has not one but three Platinums to collect, one for each of the titles included in the Remastered collection.

For Platinum Hunters And Tomb Raider Fans, The PS5 Version Is Pure Heartbreak

Indeed, the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection does not have a Platinum on PS5, despite being a dual release for both consoles. It’s especially weird when you consider the fact that its sequel, the Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered collection, does have a Platinum, meaning it was always possible.

Instead, those playing the PS5 version can unlock a whopping 268 Trophies and still not get a shiny Platinum to top it off.

Adding further salt into the wound is the fact that the 1-3 Remastered collection did recently receive a new content update that added new Trophies to the game. In that update, an additional 15 Trophies were added to the game, but none of them were a Platinum. They’re all Bronze and have some rather meaty requirements, too.

If you can’t already tell, we love a good Trophy hunt.

To this day, it’s still unclear why exactly the game can’t have a Platinum trophy. It probably has something to do with how it even categorizes its Trophies in the first place, with each game serving as “DLC,” for whatever reason.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the first Trophy-related controversy to hit PSN, as the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection, which bundles Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy in one package for PS5, also has just one Platinum, even though separate Platinums exist for the PS4 versions of the game.
