There’s no denying that Crimson Desert is one popular title. After all, it became one of the rare video games to reset its Steam peak concurrent a week after launch, rocketing past 275,000 players, a number it wasn’t particularly close to at release.
However, as far as PlayStation users in the United States are concerned, MLB The Show is infinitely more popular. Indeed, this year’s iteration of Sony’s longstanding baseball sim title, MLB The Show 26, out beat Crimson Desert on the U.S. PSN.
As first spotted by Push Square, and shared on the PlayStation Blog, the following titles made up the 10 bestselling games in the United States for the month of March.

- Marathon
- Arc Raiders
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Naturally, in the EU, Crimson Desert was No. 1 on the bestsellers chart, and as expected, MLB The Show was nowhere to be found. That said, EA Sports FC 26 is still holding strong over there, sitting at the No. 2 spot.

2K has announced some sweeping changes that should make it easier for fans to complete it.
As a final note, Marathon did not perform as well as expected, sitting in the No. 6 spot in the United States, and at No. 11 in the EU. It’s certainly more of a PC-oriented title, but not even cracking Top 5 certainly is something.
MLB The Show Is Routinely A Top Seller
As shocking as it might be to some that MLB The Show 26 is popular enough to beat Crimson Desert, it’s actually not all that surprising, truth be told. Year after year, MLB The Show remains one of gaming’s bestselling titles.
In data compiled by Circana, last year’s version, MLB The Show 25, was the 12th bestselling title in the U.S. It out beat the likes of Elden Ring Nightreign, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and WWE 2K25, sitting just one spot behind Ghost of Yotei.
At one point, through November 2025, it was the ninth bestselling game overall. Which is to say, it’s actually not all that surprising to see it chart, especially given that March also marks the return of the MLB season overall as a whole.
Of course, when Grand Theft Auto 6 releases, it’ll make all of this look like mincemeat. But for now, MLB The Show gets to celebrate at least one victory.
