There are a lot of weapons and armor pieces you can find in Crimson Desert. While some of these are tied to the main quests, others can be very easy to miss since they’re hidden throughout the world.
One of these is the Alabaster Curved Sword, which is a solid one-handed sword you can grab very early on in the game so long as you’re willing to spend a lot of time on your horse!
Alabaster Curved Sword Location
To find the Alabaster Curved Sword, you will need to make your way northwest to the Crimson Desert region. Located in the Urdavah province, you can find this sword just above the Forebearer’s Barrens. Specifically, you will want to put your map marker about an inch over the B in Forebearer’s.
Before you head out, you’ll want to make sure you have the Visione helmet unlocked. This is what allows you to see memories, and it will be obtained after you liberate and explore the Lioncrest Watchtower in Hernand. Once you have it, hop onto your horse and ride northwest to your map marker.
Keep in mind, the Crimson Desert is not a safe area to fight enemies if you’re just starting or haven’t leveled Kliff up a lot. I strongly recommend avoiding combat whenever possible, as you won’t need to actually fight anything to get the Alabaster Curved Sword. Additionally, you’ll want at least 5 Fire Resistance if possible, as this will ensure the extreme heat doesn’t sap your stamina.
Once you arrive at your marker, look for a large circular sandpit with a large circular rock formation in the middle. When making your way to the central platform, you’ll want to hop on the rocks and use them to cross the sand. This is because it’s actually quicksand, which makes it impossible to run across normally without being pulled under.
When you get onto the platform, take out your lantern and begin walking the perimeter of the ring until you find a memory fragment. Watch the ghosts until you auto-equip your Visione to view the memory. You’ll learn that some people stashed some treasure on this little sand island. After the memory concludes, use your lantern to find the two spots where both the sword and a Modest Silver Pouch were buried.
Look for some small, glowing columns of energy and just interact with the ground there. Weirdly, you won’t need a shovel to actually dig up these items, as Kliff will just use his hands this time. Remember, you need to open the Modest Silver Pouch in your inventory to actually get the money inside.
As for the Alabaster Curved Sword, it’s a good one-handed weapon that sports 16 Attack, comes in at Refinement Level 2, and has three Abyss Gear slots. Unfortunately, the sword itself doesn’t have any unique moves or additional properties like an increased Critical Rate. Because of this, I don’t recommend using this unless you like the visual design of it.
While almost all weapons scale around the same rate in terms of damage, some, such as the Acria Sword, come with a default Critical Rate of 1. This makes weapons like the Acria more ideal when it comes to dealing with some of the tougher foes. That being said, the Alabaster Curved Sword is still decent as an offhand weapon if you’re using two swords. Just make sure to slot some solid Abyss Gear into it, such as Attack Speed and Critical Rate, to make it more effective in combat!
