There aren’t many characters you’ll have to fall in love with throughout the course of Pragmata, but Cabin is a strong contender, with your humanoid Shelter computer who speaks as the royal we around consistently to provide a cheery smile and access to all kinds of info about the game.
But if you’re playing with the game audio on and have heard that odd “ta-da” sound, then you’ve bumped into a Cabin Mini Figure in Pragmata, a series of optional collectibles hidden throughout most of the sectors that offer you a neat assortment of figurines to display at the Shelter.
Cabin Figures Are An Optional Collectible
While you’ll find plenty of reasons to talk to Cabin at the Shelter in Pragmata – whether that’s to work on your Cabin’s Stamp Boards and keep plugging away at unlocking all kinds of rewards with your Cabin Coins, to ask about the new Training Simulations that Hugh and Diana came across while exploring the most recent sector, or even just to change the music playing in your Shelter – you’ll also find plenty of them around the various sectors, too.
Pragmata: How To Play Hide-And-Seek With Diana
When you work hard, it’s just as important that you play hard.
Displayed on the console with the Firmware Upgrader in your Shelter, the machine you use to boost the stats for Hugh and Diana’s primary gear, and the one with the Unit Printer on the other side, you’ll find space for a slew of optional collectibles of Cabin in various positions and outfits, which serve as decorative pieces for your Shelter.
There are two achievements in Pragmata that are related to finding the Cabin Figures: one is the “Well Spotted!” trophy for finding yoru very first Cabin Figure location, and the “Mini Hunter Supreme” trophy for finding the last.
As you push on through the game’s five main sectors, you’ll find three figures in every sector of Pragmata, which will lead you to needing to locate 15 figures altogether by the time the game is finished. Unlike most of the things you’ll be collecting in Pragmata, though, there’s no map indication to help you find every Cabin Figure location in the game, so you’re largely on your own in the hunt.
The Cabin Mini Figures are very small and are extremely easy to miss as you run past, especially if you’re not playing with the game’s sound turned on, since they make a loud, repetitive “ta-da” noise that you’ll hear when you’re nearby. You’ll be able to pin down the location of the noise in a game of hot and cold, moving to try and triangulate the source of the sound.
Cabin Mini Figures are typically in slightly out of the way locations, with many of them requiring some purposeful platforming or backtracking to obtain. You’ll need to search the blocks of every sector in Pragmata high and low to find all 15 Cabin Figure locations, so you’ll want to come prepared with your Thruster Charges upgraded, since plenty of them will require a bit of jump to get.
When you’ve found one of the 15 Cabin Mini Figures out in the world, you won’t claim it just by finding where it is! To formally lay claim to the Cabin Figures you’re finding in Pragmata, you’ll need to have Hugh shoot at the figurine where it sits to break and claim it. You don’t have to go grab the item once it’s broken, though – every Cabin Mini Figure you find in the game will appear automatically back on the desk in the Shelter.
There’s no true purpose to the Cabin Mini Figures other than to obtain the trophies and bragging rights, since Cabin won’t do much for your efforts, but it’s always cool to find as many collectibles as possible in dense action-adventure RPGs like this!
