Masked thief beauty Kunimitsu will make her grand return to Tekken 8 from 27th May for Season 3 Character Pass owners. A la carte players will be able to purchase the Manji Ninja specialist from 1st June.
Long-time fans will know that this version of Kunimitsu is actually the original game’s daughter, Kunimitsu II. She was first introduced as post-release DLC in Tekken 7, and returns here as the debut character in the title’s current Character Pass.
While the heroine retains many of the same moves from her previous incarnation, it certainly looks like she’s learned a trick or two, like the ability to inexplicably breathe fire. Sure, why not? That’s intimidating, isn’t it?
There are also some interesting nods to wider Tekken lore here, like the fact that Kunimitsu may have studied alongside Reina – and, more interestingly, that Raven trained under her father, whose identity is still unknown.
Perhaps even more excitingly, Bandai Namco has confirmed it’ll reveal the fourth and final character from the current Character Pass on 24th May at Combo Breaker, so that’s something definitely worth looking forward to.
