As if we haven’t all already had enough of Skyrim thanks to endless ports, one dedicated player has found a way to play Skyrim while playing Skyrim. Hope you’re not sick of that word just yet.
If you’ve been on the internet for longer than five minutes, then you’re no doubt aware of all the jokes that are made about Skyrim getting re-released. Hell, even Todd Howard has recently joined in on the memes. It’s for good reason, though, as Bethesda’s best game (yes, I said it), still remains as one of the most iconic RPGs of all time.
With that in mind, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that players are still figuring out ways to have fun with Skyrim, even more than a decade after its launch. We’ve seen plenty of weird things done with the game, but playing Skyrim while actually still in Skyrim might have taken the cake for me.
Skyrim Really Is The Game Of All Time, As Someone Is Playing Skyrim In Skyrim
My Head Hurts
Over on the Skyrim VR subreddit, Redditor rapture1990 shared a video of them playing the base version of Skyrim while sitting around and chilling in Skyrim VR. The short clip shows them sitting at a campfire in Skyrim VR (complete with a cheese wheel to mess around with) while also starting a new game of Skyrim in another window.

When It Comes To Ports, There Is One Game That Gives Skyrim A Run For Its Money
Skyrim arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 last week, and it’s about to be followed up by another video game legend.
Skyrim VR’s backdrop might look scenic, but rapture1990 could still be attacked while being distracted by Skyrim. I’m dying to see a full game playthrough of both at once.
As somone who struggles to play VR on its own without feeling a little queasy, I can’t believe rapture1990 is managing to play both at the same time, let alone understand how it’s actually possible. In the post, rapture1990 says that they were inspired by Habie’s video of doing a day job while inside of Skyrim VR, and wanted to see if it was possible.
To be completely fair, as much as the Skyrimception makes my head hurt, it looks like the game runs surprisingly well when doubled-up, which rapture1990 owes to it being quite old at this point. Whatever the case, I’m hoping that this starts a trend and we eventually see someone playing Skyrim on Switch, while also playing Skyrim within Skyrim VR. Make it happen, internet.
