Hotline Miami fans will definitely want to keep an eye on Kusan: City of Wolves, which has just been confirmed for a PS5 release on the 30th July.
As you’ve probably already guessed, this is a top-down action-shooter caked in blood and brutality. It’s from a Korean outfit called CIRCLEfromDOT, and it’s been catching people’s attention for a good few years now.
In terms of gameplay, it’s a bit more… action-y than Hotline Miami, in that you’ve got access to various abilities and techniques, while enemies — especially bosses — will need to be dealt with in specific ways.
But ultimately, it’s still about positioning and split-second reactions. It’s undoubtedly one for the hardcore.
Oh, and the story’s told through graphic novel-style cutscenes, which seamlessly transition into gameplay. You can catch a glimpse of that stuff in the above trailer.
