Solo developer Headware Games has announced that it’s bringing Hollowbody to PS5 next month following a strong PC release in 2024, where it garnered “very positive” reviews on Steam.
The survival horror effort is pitched as Silent Hill set in the near-future, where “an unlicensed black market shipper” has to search a ruined British city for their partner. “After her hover crashes deep within the exclusion zone, she is left alone and stranded with limited resources at her disposal.”
Footage from the console announcement trailer reveals a game with modern graphics combined with the classic and nostalgic interaction prompts seen in Silent Hill and old-school Resident Evil. The camera angles aren’t fixed, but it still has an old PS1 flavour — it’s quite a cool approach and aesthetic.
This new PS5 version includes the base game and all the updates and improvements the PC edition has received in the past year and a half, which involve additional puzzles, locations, and quality-of-life improvements. Pre-orders will go live on the PS Store today for $16.99, but PS Plus members can save 15%. The PS5 version launches on 5th June 2026.
On review aggregate site Metacritic, the game has a rating of 74. Noisy Pixel gave it an 8/10 and said: “While combat and puzzle balance may falter, the game’s immersive world-building and attention to detail make it a must-play for fans of the genre.”
