The hugely popular Winnie the Pooh Hunny Wizard card from Disney Lorcana’s Fabled set is back, but this time as part of a dedicated Illumineer’s Quest set.
This co-op adventure has been revealed previously at game shows, but not in such an official capacity as now. Joining the likes of Palace Heist and Ursula’s Return, The Great Hunny Escape will look to expand upon the lore of the Hunny Wizard himself and the other characters from Hundred Acre Wood. We’ve got a release window and price already, thanks to the Wilds Unknown Lorecast, but we don’t yet have any idea what the contents of the box are.
Behold The Hunny Wizard
Winnie the Pooh, Hunny Wizard is still one of the most expensive cards from the Fabled set, and its adorable, yet fierce artwork saw the popularity of the card boom the moment Fabled launched last year.
Now, we’re getting a dedicated Illumineer’s Quest game to expand upon the lore of the Hunny Wizard and other well-known companions from Hundred Acre Wood in a non-competitive setting. Based on the box art alone, we can see Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, and Rabbit. Sadly, there’s no sign of Kanga or Roo for now.
It’s got a release date of October 2026 (although no specific date just yet) and an MSRP of $59.99. It isn’t specifically linked to any set that we know of, as it will be released after Attack of the Vine but before Hyperia City (we presume).
How Illumineer’s Quests Work
Illumineer’s Quest is a co-op or solo adventure game where you play against a predetermined deck using either your own Disney Lorcana decks or one of the two pre-constructed decks provided in the box.
This is intended to be a great way to get new players into Lorcana without the competitive aspect of the game interfering and instead allowing players to focus on learning mechanics, turn structure, and, most importantly, having fun.
If you’ve ever tried to teach someone how to play a TCG while also playing against them, then you know how awkward it can be. The Illumineer’s Quest sets are a brilliant way to get around this while still providing a challenge for players of all skill levels.
There are even difficulty levels to challenge yourself with once you get to grips with the game, as was the case in Palace Heist and Ursula’s Revenge.
If you’re looking for ways to test new decks but don’t have a second player to join you, the Illumineer’s Quest games also work as a great way to test your builds to see if they’re ready to take to your local game store for more competitive action.
