4A Games will confirm the next entry in its Metro franchise, titled Metro 2039, in an Xbox First Look livestream later this week, it’s been announced.
The showcase will be streamed on YouTube and takes place on Thusday, 16th April 2026 at the following times:
- North America: 10am PDT / 11am MDT / 12pm CDT / 1pm EDT
- UK/Ire: 6pm BST
- Europe: 7pm CEST / 8pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 2am (Fri) JST / 1am (Fri) AWST / 3am (Fri) AEST
The Xbox Wire post sharing the news simply states: “This will be the fourth mainline entry from 4A Games in the series based on the iconic novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, following Metro 2033 (2010), Metro: Last Light (2013), and Metro Exodus (2019), all of which tell the stories of survivors of nuclear devastation living in the Moscow subway tunnels and the world that surrounds them.”
While the reveal is tied to an Xbox event, Metro 2039 is still expected to launch on PS5. Every entry in the series to date has released on PlayStation, so assume a multi-platform release here.
