As was previously teased, Sony and Arc System Works have now revealed two more fresh faces for their promising new superhero fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
The new trailer below reveals the team named the Fighting Avengers, which comprises Captain America, Iron Man, and the newly announced Hulk and Black Panther:
As you’d expect, Hulk is a huge bruiser of a character, but he has a unique Gamma Gauge that, when full, enhances his strength and speed, making him a threat at pretty much any range.
His backstory will keep him angry, too — Hulk is exiled to the Savage Lands due to his instability and raw power, and it’s something for which he’s yet to fully forgive the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Meanwhile, Marvel Tokon’s Black Panther is Shuri, who has recently inherited the role alongside her responsibilities as Queen of Wakanda (which is also announced as a new stage in the game).
She wields the Spear of Bashenga, and is a character focused on speed and agility. The spear means she has a long reach, and her special Bast’s Blessing allows her to dash in multiple directions.
The PS Blog post also reveals more details about the Champion, the main threat in Marvel Tokon and the reason all these characters are battling in the first place.
An Elder of the Universe, Champion, aided by his companion Promoter, has come to Earth to attempt to find a worthy combatant, forcing the planet’s strongest fighters into a tournament.
Tokon isn’t done revealing new characters yet, as there are still two more teams to reveal, each led by Ghost Rider and Doctor Doom.
With 14 characters now revealed, there are still six more to go and we’ll have our 20-strong launch roster.
DLC plans for the game include four additional characters and more in the first year.
