Lego released one of its biggest sets ever in 2025 – a 9,023-piece Death Star that costs an eye-watering $999.99. It seems the toy brick merchants want to go one step further in 2026, as a new leak indicates we’re a little more than three months away from the release of the biggest Lego set of all time.
Lego Is Reportedly Preparing To Reveal Its Biggest Set Ever
The leak comes from the always reliable brick.tap (via Dexerto), which basically means it’s a case of when Lego decides to give us an official look at the set rather than if. The set is a toy brick build of the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona’s iconic and stunning cathedral, and if the leak is accurate, its Lego version will be made up of a staggering 12,060 pieces.
The real cathedral is famously unfinished. Maybe Lego will sell us more bricks as construction
continues on the real thing.
That would make it the first Lego set ever sold to exceed 12,000 pieces, and thus set the record for the largest set money can buy. That record is currently held by Lego’s Art World Map. A beautiful and detailed map of the world that requires 11,695 pieces to finish, the set has since been retired, but it has held the record for the largest Lego set for five years, having been released in June 2021.
The map will hold onto that record for a few more months as the Sagrada Familia leak claims the 12,060-piece cathedral set won’t be here until July 1, 2026. What’s particularly interesting is how much the leak suggests the set is going to cost. You’d think that, considering the 9,000-piece Death Star’s $1,000 price tag, the Catalan cathedral build will cost significantly more, but apparently not.
Despite Its Massive Piece Count, The Cathedral Set Might Only Cost $600
It’s reportedly going to cost significantly less, with leakers noting it will go on sale for $600. That’s quite the deal when it comes to price per brick when you compare it to some of Lego’s bigger licensed sets. The Death Star, for example, costs roughly 11 cents per brick. Pokemon‘s biggest set so far is a little better, clocking in at around 9.5 cents per brick.
Should the Sagrada Familia set really be a 12,060-piece build, and really cost just $599.99, then that’ll be less than five cents per brick. That just goes to show how much slapping a big IP on some toy bricks increases how much Lego believes people will be willing to pay for it.
Even when compared to similar, non-licensed, architectural Lego sets, $599.99 for the upcoming cathedral set would be quite the deal. Lego’s Eiffel Tower, which is the biggest set currently available to buy through its store, is 10,001 pieces and costs $629.99. That’s more than six cents per brick. Perhaps Lego thinks people will still be more inclined to fork out for the better-known landmark, even when they have the option to buy a bigger, arguably more beautiful, set for less later this year.
New Leak Gives Us Our First Look At Eevee Minifigure From The Lego Poke Ball Set
There’s meant to be a big Lego Poke Ball coming our way this summer, and it looks like this Eevee will be one of the minifigures inside it.
