NIS America will be porting both Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure to PS5 later this year, in the autumn / fall.
You’ll be able to buy them separately or as a bundle, but no pricing has been revealed yet.
The two Falcom RPGs are currently available on PS4, but these ports will feature technical upgrades. On Sony’s current-gen console, they’ll boast 4K resolution and frame rates of up to 120 frames-per-second.
However, there’s no word on any upgrade paths if you already own the games on PS4. The publisher didn’t offer any for the PS5 ports of Trails of Cold Steel 3 and Trails of Cold Steel 4, so we’re guessing it’s the same story here.
Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are widely regarded as two of the strongest instalments in Falcom’s long-running series.
Essentially, Zero spends much of its runtime setting up a new story arc with a cast of fantastic characters, before Azure takes the momentum and runs with it across what is still one of the best-paced adventures in the franchise.
Of course, these two golden oldies won’t be the only Trails games dropping in 2026.
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, a full 3D remake of the second game in the series, is still on target for the 17th September — and it’s worth mentioning that Falcom is at least considering future remakes of Zero and Azure.
