How To Store Items And Unlock Your Own House In Crimson Desert

How To Store Items And Unlock Your Own House In Crimson Desert

A new update has just dropped for Crimson Desert that addresses several complaints, including one of the biggest missing mechanics when the base game launched. Players will no longer need to carry everything and anything during their journey, as you can now actually store items in your Private Storage box.

However, the Private Storage box is a little odd, as it will move locations as you progress through the campaign. Here is where to find it, how to store your gear, and set up your own personal house.

Where To Find Your Private Storage Box

At the start of the game, you can find the Private Storage box in your personal tent at the Royal Trading Post right outside Hernand. You’ll be directed to this tent pretty early on in the game during the New Journey quest in the prologue. Once you gain access to this private tent, you can use the Private Storage box inside for the entirety of Chapters 1 and 2.

Once you are in Chapter 3, you’ll need to complete the main quest,” Return,” which will end with you unlocking the Howling Hill camp. This will be your new home base, and you can find the Private Storage in the large tent by the table and cart. The storage won’t move for the rest of the game, so feel free to fast travel and store your items here whenever you need.

How To Store Items

Speaking of which, storing items is actually quite simple. Just approach the box and hold the interact button to open it. From here, you can either withdraw or put gear into the box by moving your cursor over and selecting it. You can put nearly everything into the box, but I recommend using it to store ore, food used to make meals, various crafting items, and any special gear you want to hold onto.

I also suggest putting a lot of your general keys in storage, since you can accidentally use them by walking into doors, which is a bit frustrating. Having the majority of them safely secured in your Private Storage will ensure you have one when it actually matters, and you don’t need to either hunt or spend money on acquiring new keys.

How To Unlock Your House And Get Furniture

What the game doesn’t tell you is that once you complete the “Return” quest, you also unlock a house that you can fully customize. To access the house, look across from your tent’s entrance to the ravine. You will see a small wooden home on the other side of the ravine, so approach one of the large trees on your side of the gap.

Press in the left stick to activate Axiom Force and aim the blue circle at the top of the tree. Latch the hand onto the tree and begin rotating the right stick in a circle to slowly lower the tree down. Once it’s bent back, you’ll be given a prompt to perform a high jump, which will launch you both forward and high into the air.

Now just hit X (Xbox) / Square (PlayStation) to glide across the gap to the house. Now head inside the house and Press Start to enter the decoration mode. From here, you can hit Start again to bring up a list of all items that are usable to decorate your house, and you can place them around.

The items you can decorate your home with will be marked with a house icon and can be found by just exploring, taking, or stealing them in some cases. For larger pieces of furniture, you can purchase them at a vendor (location shown above) just outside Hernand, who will sell you everything from cabinets to chairs to beds.
