As it was promised, Cryo Archive has arrived in the second half of March. Marathon players can now access the end-game map of Season 1, which offers some of the most intense battles you can find in the whole game. The only detail is, well, can you really play on Cryo Archive?
This map has some special conditions that differentiate it from all the other locations in the game. While Outpost requires you to be above a specific Runner Level, Cryo Archive pushes things further. Let’s go over everything you need to know about how to access and unlock Cryo Archive. Just be sure to be ready for the challenge.
How To Access Cryo Archive
While Cryo Archive already appears on the location select screen at the bottom, you will only be able to select it if you fulfill some conditions:
- Your minimum Runner Level is 25.
- You have unlocked every Faction, which means that you have completed the “Introduction to” main contract of each of them.
- You’re in a group with two other players.
- You have a minimum loadout value of 5,000 Credits (also called gear ante).
For tips on how to level up fast, please check our guide. Regarding your loadout value, you’ll need to have plenty of Deluxe pieces (the blue ones) in your equipment. For reference, if you have a set of Enhanced pieces (green) with a few Deluxe ones, you’ll be around 3,000 gear ante. Check our traders’ guide to see the equipment that you could purchase.
When Is Cryo Archive Available?
Here’s another relevant detail: you can’t play Cryo Archive every day. It’s only available on weekends, from Fridays to Sundays. This relates to the unique design and challenges the maps present. The idea is to collect all the best gear you can over the week and then put it to the test over the weekend.
