The next big James Bond adventure isn’t a movie, it’s PS5 game 007 First Light, and it sounds like its lead performer is doing a great job of playing the part.
Patrick Gibson steps into the polished shoes of James Bond in the upcoming action adventure game, portraying a younger version of the character in an origin story exploring how he becomes a 00 agent.
According to another member of the cast — Lennie James, who plays John Greenway in the game — Gibson’s performance is so good he could be in the conversation for the movies as well.
“He’s fantastic in our version of Bond, and I genuinely think he should be a candidate for the main role that they’re trying to find someone for,” James told Radio Times Gaming.
“I’m sure he’s under consideration. The people in control would be mad not to consider him.”
Indeed, now that Daniel Craig is done with the franchise, it remains to be seen who will be cast as the new face of Bond in the films going forward.
It sounds like Gibson has put in a good turn in IO Interactive’s upcoming game, though, and with this being an official James Bond adventure, we’re sure there are people at Amazon paying attention. It may not be wholly out of the question.
Whether or not he ends up on the big screen in the next Bond movie, it seems we’re in for a treat when First Light arrives on 27th May 2026.
