Unless the PS5’s game data compression feature (Kraken) is utilised when the port arrives, you will probably need to set aside a significant portion of the console’s SSD to download Forza Horizon 6.
Ahead of the racer’s initial release on the Xbox Series X|S and PC, its install size has been revealed. The Xbox Series X needs at least 135GB of space to download, while the Xbox Series S demands 130GB. On PC, you’re looking at a 160GB title.
There is a good chance these kinds of install sizes will carry over to the PS5 version, which is still projected to launch later this year. Again, the Kraken feature the PS5 carries could reduce the download size, but the compression system doesn’t seem to be used as often as it used to be by developers.
Elsewhere in an official blog post from Playground Games, the title’s graphics modes were also announced. The Quality and Performance modes on the Xbox Series X version are what will most likely translate over to the PS5 edition, so here is what’s on offer for that system:
- Quality Mode
- 4K resolution at 30 frames-per-second (on Xbox Series X)
- Performance Mode
- Targets 4K resolution and scales dynamically to maintain 60 frames-per-second (on Xbox Series X)
