Peni Parker (and her SP//dr mech, of course) has been confirmed as the final member of Spider-Man’s team, The Amazing Guardians, in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
After what felt like an incredibly long time without any kind of news on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works has finally been sharing more about the game over the past month or so. Last month’s PlayStation State of Play not only gave us a release date for the game, but also revealed a bunch of new characters like Wolverine and Danger.
That reveal confirmed that Marvel Tokon is pairing up its characters into teams of four, which led to a ton of speculation about who would be joining next and how they’d tie into their respective teams. Spider-Man’s team was particularly exciting since there are so many possibilities, and we finally know who the last member is.

Earlier today, the official Marvel Tokon Twitter account shared a message saying that “every helping hand is welcome, even those who come from another dimension”. This raised a lot of eyebrows and had everyone thinking that Arc System Works was either going to reveal a guest character or bring in everyone’s favourite dimension-hopper, Miles Morales.

As it turns out, though, the tease was actually for Peni Parker, who was just revealed in a new trailer for Marvel Tokon. Peni is the final member of a team led by Spider-Man, The Amazing Guardians, which is made up of Peter Parker, Peni Parker, Kamala Khan and, strangely, Star-Lord. Not really sure why he’s here, but we’ll roll with it.
A stage based on Knowhere was also confirmed in the new trailer.
Based on the footage, Peni is a heavy fighter who relies on SP//dr’s strength and size in battle, while also having a wide range of different gadgets to mix up her moveset. As much as I wanted to see Miles Morales in the game, it’s hard to argue that Peni is a far more interesting pick from the Spider-Verse, so I’m looking forward to seeing what she’s all about.
