Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 already holds the record for most-awarded game in the industry’s history with nearly 500 total awards under its belt, but yesterday’s BAFTA win marked another monumental achievement for developer Sandfall Interactive.
As noted by Kotaku, with Best Game securely in hand, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now the second game ever to win all five of the major GOTY awards.

Only Baldur’s Gate 3 And Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Currently Hold The Record
The only other game in history to sweep up all of these same awards is Baldur’s Gate 3, which also starred Jennifer English — who even took home Best Performer in a Leading Role last night. Considering she starred in the award-sweeping Elden Ring just years prior, which held the record as most-awarded game before Clair Obscur took the crown, she might just be the industry’s good luck charm.
Elden Ring won GOTY at The Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, GDC Awards, and DICE Awards, but lost out to Vampire Survivors at the BAFTAs.
Aside from Best Performer in a Leading Role and the top prize of Best Game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also took home the award of Best Debut Game during the BAFTA Game Awards 2026, beating Blue Prince, Consume Me, Despelote, Dispatch, and The Midnight Walk for the honor, continuing the “completely unexpected” record-breaking award run that has even seen Sandfall Interactive devs knighted in their home country of France.
