There are many ways to get around in Crimson Desert. You can teleport, glide, use a jetpack, and even fly a dragon. However, you’ll mostly be making your way across Pywel while riding. While the devs added more permanent mounts in a previous update, you can temporarily ride certain wildlife found in the game.
Wild Bears make for tough enemies, but if you whittle down their health, you’ll get the option to ride them. It’s pretty fun riding a massive, terrifying bear into battle. In fact, some enemies will even flee as soon as they see you and townsfolk won’t be able to stop staring as you pass by. However, for the love of God, do not dismount after bringing the wild bear into a populated area.
Bear In Mind
Streamer Ramez05 decided to take a stroll through Hernand Town on their newly acquired wild bear mount. However, he forgot that this mount is temporary, and that wild bears stay wild. After getting a few looks from townsfolk and guards, the streamer decided to dismount from the bear, probably to get some chores done. But, he didn’t expect the chaos that followed.
Almost as soon as he dismounted, the bear went back to being a wild beast. It let out a deafening roar to stun-lock everyone in the radius and proceeded to attack nearby NPCs. Townsfolk ran for their lives and guards ran up to fight the bear, but the massive beast merely swatted them away.
One thing I noticed was that the game didn’t recognize this as an antagonistic action by Kliff, so his reputation wasn’t affected. It could actually be a great tactic to take over strongholds. Just ride a bear into the center and watch it thin out the herd.
The bear especially targeted one poor guard who ran in to rescue citizens. Unfortunately, he was no match for it, getting ripped apart and tossed around like a rag doll. All this while the streamer just stood there and watched the horror ensue, instead of helping.
