Crimson Desert Will Address Enemy Scarcity, Storage Issues, And Lack Of Companion Skills

While Crimson Desert launched with a few issues, like confusing controls and difficult boss fights, Pearl Abyss has been improving things with every update. The previous update further improved movement controls and certain combat issues, but it seems the devs aren’t done. The studio has put out a list of improvements it wants to make over the next few months.

These are all issues that players have been complaining about, with the biggest among them being that enemies become scarce once you start liberating areas. Players found that enemy presence and patrols would become rare to come across, meaning there were hardly any combat encounters. These are the kind of things Pearl Abyss aims to address.

“Today, we’re here to share a preview of some of the new features and content currently in development, shaped by your feedback, including a variety of content for those looking for more ways to enjoy the game and those who want to further challenge themselves,” says the blog post. “Our goal is to roll these updates out gradually from April through June.”

The first major point revolves around combat. To address complaints about the world feeling empty, the devs have included two ideas that will scratch that combat itch in the late game. Firstly, you’ll be able to have rematches against bosses. It’s a great way to see how much you’ve grown if you struggled against a previous boss.

The next is a re-blockading system, which lets enemies recapture strongholds that you’ve liberated. This system will ensure that there’s always a stronghold to capture and hordes of enemies to fight if you feel like it. Crimson Desert will soon also get difficulty options, letting you choose from easy, normal, and hard difficulty. The wording suggests that you’ll be able to change difficulty at any time.

These are all complaints we’ve been seeing on Reddit, Twitter, and other forums in the past week.

On the character side of things, Damiane and Oongka will finally be getting “skills comparable to Force Palm and Axiom Force.” They aren’t the same as Kliff, but they will be “new abilities equivalent to those skills.” You’ll also be able to hide the weapons on your back and get some new outfits.

Other improvements include more specialized storage for food, attire, ingredients and materials, and quest items. There will also be more mounts, and other UI, controller, and graphical improvements.
