The general consensus around PS Plus Extra seems to be that Sony’s middle-tier subscription is actually really good, offering up a consistently strong lineup of PS5 and PS4 software.
And we can’t see that perception changing this month, as the games for May 2026 range from genuinely great to “hmmm, I should give that a go“.
Red Dead Redemption 2 obviously needs no introduction — it’s a bloody masterpiece — but plenty of subscribers will have already played it.
It’s a good job, then, that fellow open worlder Star Wars Outlaws is here, having previously underperformed in terms of sales. We can see a lot of people booting this one up in a bid to form their own opinion.
Elsewhere, Bramble: The Mountain King is a very creepy indie title, and The Thaumaturge is, some would argue, a frustratingly underrated RPG.
And hey, you simply can’t go wrong with Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Reforged — a true classic brought back to life with exemplary care and attention.
Okay, so Extra’s pretty good, but what about PS Plus Premium? Well, the bad news is we’re still on one game a month. But the better news is that Time Crisis is an eternal banger.
