Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is starting to gather momentum as we get ever closer to its 6th August release date, and it seems its next gear shift will be at EVO Japan.
Happening right now in Tokyo, the fighting game tournament lasts the whole weekend, running from today, 1st May 2026, to Sunday 3rd May.
It seems fans of Tokon will have something to look forward to, as developer Arc System Works is teeing up some sort of announcement:
Those who watch the stream on Sunday — the final day of EVO Japan — will be in for some sort of “surprise” related to the game, or so it’s teased in the above post.
Our first assumption is that this might be a new trailer that confirms a couple more playable characters.
Tokon has been revealing new fighters with trailers framing them as distinct teams, pairing previously-announced characters with fresh faces.
We imagine we’ll see another of these during this event. Obviously that’s not confirmed at this point, but we’re not sure what else Tokon’s “surprise” will be; perhaps another public beta test?
At any rate, if you’re interested in the game, you should keep an eye on EVO Japan this Sunday. You can watch via Twitch or YouTube, and we’ll of course cover whatever’s announced on Push Square.
