Dying Light: The Beast was barely present at The Game Awards 2025, where Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won almost everything. However, fans of the series haven’t been complaining, as it’s arguably the best game in the series. Techland revealed that it will refocus on Dying Light 2, after The Beast’s successful launch, but it looks like something else is in the works.
The studio’s careers page has revealed that it has begun hiring for a number of new roles for an upcoming project. The good news for fans is that it will be based in the Dying Light franchise, but the job description refers to it as a “new online experience”. While nothing is official yet, we could be getting a multiplayer Dying Light game.
Techland Could Be Hiring For A Multiplayer Dying Light Game
As spotted by PCGamesN, the studio has published job listings for a number of departments, including programming, animation, art, design, and publishing. Among them is one for a lead online game designer, with the job description saying, “Define the framework and structure for a new online experience in the Dying Light franchise.”
Delving further into the job description, it’s evident that the studio is working on some sort of multiplayer game, However, there’s no information on the format; whether it will be PvP, co-op, or some sort of extraction shooter. The Dying Light universe seems perfect for a survival or extraction game, but only time will tell what format this online game will adopt.
Techland spoke to TheGamer at Gamescom 2025, where director, Nathan Lemaire said that the team always has one eye on the future. “Right now, we are super-heavily focused on making Dying Light: The Beast the best game that we have ever released at Techland in our more than 30 years of existence,” he said at the time. “But you can never stop developers from having ideas, right? We always have new ideas: What can we do more? Where can we go next? We talk about this all the time.”
