The price, location, and number of mansions in GTA Online‘s Safehouse in the Hills update have been revealed, and they’re actually nowhere near as expensive as we all assumed.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Rockstar Games had sent select GTA content creators around $20,000,000 to go towards their first “luxury property” in GTA Online’s next big update. That instantly had us all worrying that the mansions were going to be prohibitively expensive, and far out of the reach of most players.
That being said, there was a little room to assume that Rockstar had sent a bit of extra money to content creators, and that mansions might be cheaper than the real-world $200 that amount equates to. Now that the update has just gone live and the mansions are up for purchase, we know for sure what the deal is.
GTA Online’s Mansions Are Expensive, But Not As Bad As Everyone Expected
You’ll Still Have To Put In The Work (Or Shark Cards), Though
Shortly after the Safehouse in the Hills update went live, Twitter user Nuro_Citrix shared the details of all the mansions that are available to purchase in GTA Online. As it turns out, there are currently only three in the game, including The Tongva Estate, Richman Villa, and The Vinewood Residence, which are all fairly close to one another.

What GTA 6’s Delay Means For The Games Industry
The entire release calendar moves every time GTA 6 does, so how will the latest delay impact everything else?
I know what you’re here for, though – the prices. The Tongva Estate starts out the cheapest at $8,500,000, while The Vinewood Residence goes up a bit at $9,200,000. Then there’s the aptly named Richman Villa, which will cost players $9,800,000 at its absolute cheapest price, which is far off from the 20 million we all assumed it would be.
Of course, that’s just the entry price for the mansions, as Nuro_Citrix confirmed that there are a bunch of additional purchases that can be made on top of the base price, including extra rooms like an armoury, arcade, and podium, as well as a cost for security and some interior customisation.
With all of the extra rooms applied, the cost of the Richman Villa goes up to $15,705,500 overall, which is a bit closer to the dreaded number that we all had in our heads.
If you’re like me and wondering how much that’s going to cost in Shark Cards, it’s a lot closer to $150 instead of the $200 that we expected earlier in the week. That’s still quite a lot of money, but it’s a little bit better than expected, especially if you’re putting some of your hard-earned heist money towards the mansion instead of just going for broke with Shark Cards.
