The PS Store’s latest offer, simply named the Spring Sale, is on right now, and it’s been extended through to 22nd April 2026.
What’s more, it’s been refreshed with a whole new set of thousands of PS5 and PS4 games. It can be difficult to browse through all that, which is where this guide comes in.

Absolum is both a brilliantly crafted beat-‘em-up and a devilishly addictive roguelike. Although the overall experience does feel slightly short-lived, you’ll seriously struggle to tear yourself away from the game’s striking fantasy world — especially when all of its systems start to click.

Baby Steps is more than it first appears, offering up a heartfelt story about a man grappling with his insecurities as he’s forced to keep going. The intentionally tricky walking and climbing is a lot of fun to grapple with, and there’s plenty of silly stuff to discover in the open world setting. Your mileage may vary due to various factors, not least the amount of punishment you’ll take as you scramble up the mountain, but it’s a journey worth taking for those willing to persist.

Balatro puts an ingenious roguelike spin on poker, and it plays unlike anything else. Each run has you using poker hands to score a points target, but the real fun comes when you start to build upon your deck of playing cards with an enormous variety of modifiers, upgrades, and augmentations. The ways that all its various mechanics intertwine create huge potential for outrageously powerful synergies, and watching the numbers tot up as your regular hand is boosted by special Jokers and card effects is incredibly satisfying. There’s lots of stuff to collect, difficulty levels to conquer, and challenges to complete. There’s a reason it’s one of 2024’s breakout hits — it’s a fantastic, unique roguelike.

Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe is the definitive version of this unusual but great culinary adventure. Set in a world where chefs go head-to-head in a prestigious cooking tournament, the game is half action title and half cooking minigames. You’ll go out slaying monsters and harvesting ingredients, then brew them up to create delicious dishes to satisfy the judges. It’s an odd recipe, but results in a surprisingly tasty dish.

Blasphemous 2 takes the foundations of its well-received predecessor and builds upon it in all the right ways. Tweaking combat to make it faster, smoother, and more accurate, removing insta-death scenarios to make platforming more manageable, and packing the game full to the brim with secrets and collectibles. The great attention to detail in the presentation and high level of polish make Blasphemous 2 a delightfully memorable experience that players will look back on fondly for years to come.

Cat Quest 3 builds upon the first two entries in this cult favourite series, offering up maybe the best one yet. With a pirate theme introducing nautical traversal and combat, this is a more expansive action RPG that keeps things simple, with that signature illustrated art style and cheeky humour. Those after a lighthearted adventure need look no further.

Dave the Diver, like the sea, is far deeper than you think it is. It charms with its attractive visuals and addictive loop of diving for fish and running a restaurant, but it never rests on its laurels, always finding new ways to enhance the fun. There’s never a dull moment, whether it’s a whole new feature expanding the gameplay, an unexpected new story beat, or another hilarious cutscene to enjoy. It’s this constant reinvention and surprise that makes the game so compelling, even through the occasional rougher moments. If you’ve yet to experience it for yourself, we’d highly encourage that you take the plunge.

Days Gone Remastered changes Bend Studio’s underappreciated open world in more ways than you’d expect. With a new lighting engine, the tension is significantly amplified, while the new Horde Assault mode allows you to focus on the release’s most enjoyable moments: those white-knuckle face-offs against hundreds upon hundreds of Freakers.

Capcom has brought back its cult classic in style with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. You’re trapped inside a shopping mall infested with the undead, and you only have so much time before things truly go south. With modernised visuals, streamlined gameplay, and other new features, this is now arguably the definitive version of the zombie action title.

Sony comfortably hooked the enthusiast crowd by adding Demon’s Souls to the PS5’s launch lineup. FromSoftware’s legendary action RPG – which would go on to spawn the so-called Soulsborne series and, eventually, even Elden Ring – was snubbed by the Japanese giant during the PS3 era, as it felt early builds were simply not up to snuff. Publishers like Atlus and Bandai Namco eventually picked it up, and it went on to become a cult classic. Perhaps as a tacit admission that it made a mistake, its recruited tech specialists Bluepoint Games to remake the game for a modern era – and the results are remarkable. This version uses original PS3 code to make for an incredibly authentic experience, but its visuals are among some of the best you’ll find on Sony’s new-gen console. It’s an extraordinary blend of old and new that comes highly recommended.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided had a lot to live up to following up the hit series revival, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and it almost managed it. While it doesn’t quite measure up in terms of its narrative, the immersive sim is still a strong sci-fi adventure with fantastic environments to explore and flexible gameplay the series is known for. While stealth is largely the way to go, you’re given ample opportunities to go about objectives your own way.

One of the FPS originals, id Software resurrected DOOM with spectacular results. An irreverent story-telling approach and genuinely innovative arcade action makes for one of the most gratifying experiences on the PS4, and while the multiplayer mode is a bit of a stinker, the slick campaign with stunningly old-school level design makes this a standout shooter.

Eternights’ great success is that it manages to be more than the sum of its parts. The witty writing papers over the shakier aspects of the storytelling, the slight combat is used sparingly enough that its flaws rarely frustrate, and above all, it’s got an undeniable charm despite its rough edges. We’re swiping right on this one.

If you’re itching for an angsty JRPG that’s very much a product of its time, Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is the game for you. Square Enix did a great job of updating this saga for both modern and nostalgic audiences. Even though parts of it have definitely aged, Final Fantasy X remains a landmark release, telling a love story that’s full of weird twists, spread across an intriguing and unique fantasy world. X-2, on the other hand, borders on fan fiction. A direct sequel to X that’s campy beyond measure — but it’s still a fun time thanks to well worked gameplay mechanics.

Freedom Wars Remastered is an excellent way to relive the restrictive action game. In 2025, the game’s forward-thinking multiplayer components have a greater chance of capturing a dedicated community, and graphical and technical enhancements make it the definitive way to play. But it’s a PS Vita game at its core; constant loading, dull characters, comparatively simple combat, and endless busy work have somewhat dented our rosy memories of the original game.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective comes from the mind behind the Ace Attorney series, and while there’s definitely some through-lines, this unique adventure really stands out. You play as a character who’s just died, and must learn the truth behind his own murder — in doing so uncovering a wider conspiracy. Using your ghostly abilities to possess objects and rewind time, this is a wonderfully wacky puzzle adventure with a great story at its core.
