Hitman developer IO Interactive has announced that its James Bond game, 007 First Light, has now gone gold ahead of the 27th May 2026 release date.
In the games industry, something having “gone gold” means the studio has completed all the work needed for the 1.0 version of the game, and now that can be printed to physical discs. Between now and the launch in two weeks, the team will most likely turn its attention to a day one update to fix any outstanding issues.
Much like its work on the previous Hitman games, though, the launch of 007 First Light is expected to only be the start of the game’s lifespan. Post-launch content and support is coming to keep you occupied beyond what is tipped to be a 20-hour campaign.
