Z-A And Metroid Prime 4 See Rare Discount At GameStop

Z-A And Metroid Prime 4 See Rare Discount At GameStop

It’s no secret that rising prices across the board have significantly impacted everyone’s quality of life, often putting gaming and other hobbies on the back-burner for people. That much was evident in November, when console sales hit a 30-year low, even with deep discounts on things like the PlayStation 5.

However, a rare discount on two recently-released Nintendo Switch 2 titles, Pokemon Legends: Z-A or Metroid Prime 4, is currently being offered at GameStop, helping make the titles a lot more palatable in these expensive times. That is provided you’re subscribed to GameStop’s annual $25 membership.

I Wish I Didn’t Have To Evolve My Pokemon In Legends: Z-A

Pokemon Legends: Z-A won’t allow you to stay young and beautiful forever.

As first shared by the deals master himself, Wario64, if you’re a GameStop Pro member, you should have a $20 off coupon for either Legends: Z-A or Prime 4 in your “Active Offers.”

The coupon expires on January 31, and judging by the replies, it seems like you can use it on the Switch 2 versions of either title, effectively knocking the price down to $49.99 pre-tax on the Switch 2 versions or $39.99 if you’re still rocking the OG Switch.

Given Nintendo’s own lack of deep discounts on some of its biggest first-party titles, this coupon is likely as good as things will get.

Massive bonus points if you’ve yet to spend the monthly $5 coupon that you get for being a Pro member and/or have the $10 settlement coupon from the recent class-action lawsuit. It really does pay to be a patient gamer.

Some Massive Games Have Been On Deep Discount As Of Late

Right now, it’s unclear exactly why GameStop is offering such a massive discount and other retailers aren’t. Granted, you need to have a paid membership, but even those are often on discount during major events or individually discounted during major purchases or large trade-ins.

It’s also a rather rare coupon, even by GameStop standards. As an on-and-off again Pro member, I’ve received coupons for a free Red Bull or discounted warranty, but nothing of this magnitude.

That said, it follows a rather recent trend for some massive titles. Infamously, Black Ops 7 was as low as $35 roughly one month after its release. Similarly, Battlefield 6 was and still is on quite a steep discount.

Elsewhere, as my colleague Josh Coulson noted, the PlayStation Store’s own End of Year sale has some massive price cuts to some of 2025s biggest titles, including Death Stranding 2, Silksong and even the GOTY, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Sales happen, but it certainly is weird seeing sales this early and so deep. No mind, if you’ve got the cash to spare, now is seemingly the time to act.
