You’ll Be Searching Far And Wide For These Catches In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

We all know the saying is “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” when it comes to Pokemon, but games like Pokemon Legends: Z-A make that as difficult to achieve as possible, with certain Pokemon having remarkably low drop rates compared to all the other ‘mon that appear in their Wild Zone.

Most of the Pokemon that are tricky to catch are difficult for a reason, often giving you some of the rawest power output in the game once you evolve these hidden friends to their final forms. These Pokemon have low spawn rates in occasionally tough-to-reach spots that make them rarest catches.

Eevee

The original Pokemon capable of becoming practically whatever you want or need it to become, you’ll be able to evolve your Eevee into a variety of different Eevee-lutions as you accumulate evolution stones, either purchased from the Stone Emporium or picked up as treasures across your adventures in the city.

The Best Catches In Every Wild Zone In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

You should probably still catch ‘em all, of course, but if you have to focus on any of them…

You’ll most often find Eevee on rooftops across town, and you’ll often find yourself surprised when you come across one as you dash to and from main missions to handle the rogue Mega Pokemon threatening to terrorize the town. Grab as many as you can catch and ensure you’ve got the type advantage no matter what battles you get into.

Larvitar

If you’re in the market for a Pokemon that’ll grow into one of the best Rock-types in the game, look no further than Larvitar – assuming you can find one, that is. There are a few that spawn around Lumiose, but their spawn rates are much lower than some of the other rarer Pokemon in our list.

The only one we’ve found so far was in the Vert Sector on a rooftop that requires quite a lot of climbing and slingshotting with your more advananced Rotom Phone capabilities as you progress through the game. Make your way to the rooftops over Vernal Avenue and catch one of the best options for durable Rock-types in the game.

Riolu

You’ll get a taste for the sheer might that comes with Mega Lucario when you’re able to borrow one at the beginning of the game as your introduction to the Mega Evolution mechanic, but if you’d like to keep on with that Fighting power, you’ll need to catch and raise a Riolu to contiue taking advantage.

These little guys can be tricky to find, though, with only a few spawn locations across the city of Lumiose. It’s a daytime spawn on one of the roofs in the Rouge sector, near the Pokeball store. Climb the ladder to the roof and dash across carefully to claim this fan-favorite Fighter.

Cleffa

Cleffa is one of the more beloved Baby Pokemon introduced long ago back in the second generation of the games, but if you’re looking to get Clefairy or Clefable in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll need to hunt down one of the rarer spawns in the game so you can catch and train up your cute little Cleffa.

Just beside the fourth Wild Zone in the northern part of Lumiose City, across the main street to the west, you can find a Cleffa on one of the rooftops. Catch this adorable little friend and raise your Cleffa with high friendship to get your Clefairy, then track down a Moon Stone to evolve it into Clefable at long last.

Ralts

Have you seen one of these weird little guys in the courtyards around Lumiose City and feel excited that you’re about to get your hands on the first form of some of the most beloved Psychic-types in the whole of the Pokemon series, only to feel dejected and confused when it runs toward a wall and floats off into the sky to evade capture?

If you’re able to pin down a Ralts before it vanishes on you, you’ve got plenty of potential power lying in wait, and which final form you get is decided by whether you’ve caught a male or female Ralts. Consider status moves or higher-level Pokeballs to give yourself a leg up in catching this evasive Pokemon.

Dratini

You might see your first Dratini through the impenetrable walls of Wild Zone 12, teasing you from the rooftops just on the other side of the guard wall keeping wild Pokemon within the zones. There are a few others in the city, too – one on the roof of Restaurant Le Nah and another over in the Magenta section – but this may be the first you come across.

Regardless of which one you’re trying to catch, we definitely advise doing so sooner than later, since you’ll get your hands on one of the original Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon from the first generation this way: Dragonite.

Quick balls or overpowered moves that one-shot Dratini are all but essential, since it will run away on sight. Sneak up behind it and use these options to take it down or take it in before it flees.

The Elemonkies: Pansage, Panpour, And Pansear

One of your Side Missions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is to collect the three elemental monkey Pokemon from across the city and bring them back to the waiter at one of the luxurious restaurants around town, but you’ve got your work cut out for you if you’re hunting down this trio of terrific monkey ‘mon.

While you’ll have some success happening across these Pokemon across the rooftops in the city, you’ll also find them in the trees along Hibernal Avenue from time to time. Look up as you dash across the city to find these colorful monkeys waiting for you in the branches and be sure you catch ‘em all.

Spritzee

You might happen across one of the two Spritzee spawn locations in Lumiose City as part of the town itself, since these little pals are notorious fans of hanging out on or around the various food trucks and food carts you’ll find along the sidewalks of the city, selling various tasty treats for you and your team.

You’ll find a few of them throughout the city hanging out on the roofs of food trucks, on awnings watching people have their feasts, and you’d be wise to grab one of these little cuties when you see one. Get the angle of the throw right, though, since the food trucks themselves can make for some frustrating catching conditions.
