“Xbox Wrapped” Will Reportedly Not Happen In 2025

As many around the world continue to share their Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music Replay, Playstation Wrap-Up, Steam Replay or YouTube Recap, all eyes have been on Microsoft and Xbox to see if they’d end up doing the same before 2025 comes to a close.

Unfortunately, if you’re an Xbox fan, don’t expect an “Xbox Wrapped” like there was in 2024 with the “Xbox Year in Review” program. According to reporting from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, it simply isn’t happening this year.

Rather, per Corden, Xbox is pulling out all the stops in 2026 for its 25th anniversary, and the “marketing budget” that would’ve gone to an Xbox Wrapped is being reallocated into efforts to celebrate Xbox, its games like Halo, and some of the brands it owns like Bethesda, and the anniversaries they’ll be celerbrating next year.

I Will Never Forgive Xbox For Ruining Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass gave me hope for broke gamers at the start of this generation. Now, they’re being priced out again.

“For sure, I’m told Microsoft has some big plans to celebrate Xbox’s 25th anniversary in 2026, which is why you’ve seen some decreased activity for Xbox community events in 2025,” Corden wrote.

It’s probably not the biggest deal in the world, but for a brand that has taken a massive number of lumps throughout 2025, some of it self-inflicted, it simply is more fire for disgruntled fans.

“It’s always ‘next year’ with Xbox,” one frustrated fan wrote on Reddit.

With the number of major releases that came to Xbox in 2025, it would have been cool to see everyone’s stats. Alas it just wasn’t mean to be.

Considering the sheer size of Microsoft and the amount of money spent on acquisitions for Xbox alone, the idea that a marketing budget would have to be reallocated in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand at the expense of a Spotify Wrapped-style endeavor surely is frustrating.

“It’s hard being an Xbox fan these days,” another gamer wrote. “I was looking forward to that. It is what it is, I guess.”

That said, if Microsoft won’t do an Xbox Year in Review, then there is a company that will, and chances are, you might already be signed up with them.

TrueAchievements Is Coming To The Rescue For Xbox Fans

OK, if you happen to use TrueAchievements for the purposes of tracking your playtime, Achievements and overall Gamerscore, then you can make use of their #MyYearOnXbox program that is available right now.

“My Year on Xbox is a personalised animation showing off some of your key gaming stats from the games you’ve played on the Xbox platform during 2025. It’s the TrueAchievements version of your Xbox Year In Review, or our ‘Xbox Wrapped,'” a post on TrueAchievements read.

Because the platform already has access to the Xbox API, the data it feeds to create your annual wrap-up is accurate, and it also secure because of the legitimate login requirements, so need to worry about having your account stolen or anything.

It may not be official, but it’s doing a ton of heavy lifting when Microsoft simply isn’t.
