If you’ve ever played a Pokemon game, then we don’t have to introduce you to Ditto, the Transform Pokemon capable of becoming a mimic of any other Pokemon or a parent to any type of Pokemon with which it’s left at the Breeder’s.
While Ditto hasn’t always been one of the mascot Pokemon, it’s become one in the last several years after a spree of appearances outside the mainline Pokemon titles, the regular adventure games on Nintendo consoles from which it comes. If you’re looking to see where else you might find Ditto, then look no further than our list.

Japan: April 1999 North America: June 1999 Australia: July 2000 Europe: October 2000 |
There were plenty of fun ways to see your favorite Pokemon pals in some of the side spin-off titles The Pokemon Company has released in its decades so far, but perhaps one of the most enjoyable was Pokemon Pinball, an old-school GameBoy Advance title that brought plenty of types of pinball right to your handheld consoles.
The 24 Best Non-Legendary Pokemon, Ranked
Legendary Pokemon are legendary for a reason, but there are plenty of non-legendary Pokemon that are just as amazing.
In Pokemon Pinball, you could find Ditto on the Red Field table. With each unique pinball table in the game having a gimmick, Ditto was here along with Voltorb, Bellsprout, Diglett, and Staryu to prevent you from enabling the evolution mode until you’ve lit up all the requisite spots on the board first.
Pokemon Trozei Series
The main games in the core Pokemon series are always going to be turn-based adventure titles, but Pokemon Trozei was a mid-2000s DS title that took Pokemon fans by storm, offering the chance to solve puzzles with (or in spite of) your favorite Pokemon instead. The follow-up came in 2014 to deliver even more of the same kind of action for fans of the puzzle game genre once more.
Ditto actually has something of a primary, desirable role in the Pokemon Trozei spin-off titles. You can achieve a “Trozei”, which is the goal of each match several Pokemon of the same type together, by pairing one Ditto with four copies of another Pokemon’s card and use Ditto in lieu of hoping for a fifth and final copy of the other Pokemon. Ditto definitely gets to keep its nearly unanimous use across spin-off games!

Fans of melee fighting games absolutely love the Super Smash Bros series, a long-running Nintendo staple, and no matter who your favorite fighter is, you’ll likely need to contend with a Pokemon trainer or another player controlling any character throwing a PokeBall during the battle and release who knows what Pokemon onto the field.
This is where you’ll find it in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, able to copy the form of the character who summoned it into battle and fighting on their side. It was only a trophy back in Super Smash Bros Melee, originally programmed as a PokeBall summon but removed according to dataminers.

There were more than 300 picross puzzles features in Pokemon Picross, and you can find Ditto as the very first Pokemon in the eighth area of the game. It’s a 10×10 puzzle that might give itself away right off the bat with the iconic pink color and silly little smile.
Pokemon Rumble Series
Are you a fan of ARPG titles that task you with thinking outside the box who also happens to love the Pokemon series? Then the Pokemon Rumble games are for you, with five titles in the series to date, with all five featuring Ditto in one way or another.
Some locations where Ditto has appeared in the Pokemon Rumble series were limited-time events, so it can no longer be accessed.
Each game has plenty of stages for you to complete, so it’s well worth deep-diving back into such an iconic series in the ARPG genre if that kind of game is up your alley!

These Forgotten Pokemon Games Need A Comeback On Nintendo Switch 2
These forgotten spin-off Pokemon games deserve to be revived on the Switch 2.

Original Pokemon fans from back in the first generation where Ditto first debuted will likely have fond memories of playing Pokemon Snap on the Nintendo 64, the title that allowed you to venture through a beautifully decorated park taking photos of Pokemon existing happily in recreations of their natural habitats.
If you’re looking for Ditto specifically in this title, you can find it in the Cave. It’s pretty dark in there, but you’ll find a variety of Pokemon both regular and legendary alike as you look for Ditto, who’s here disguised as a Bulbasaur.
Look for its iconic face as a giveaway!
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Series
