Are you playing your next Fortnite game with a friend and want to show the lobby you two are close? Maybe you’re trying to show a little bit of adoration to a significant other before you’re pitted against one another and made to fight to the death? Or did you perhaps do something sort of sweaty and want to apologize for it?

Fortnite is more than just your average FPS. Here are all the game modes you can try, ranked to determine which is best.

The Bear Hug emote is one of the least expensive emotes in the whole of the game, and it’s a pretty friendly one at that. An uncommon emote for only 200 V-Bucks can seldom be beat.

Real Slim Shady

The Real Slim Shady emote, one of the most popular emotes in Fortnite.

The very first musical emote on our list of the most popular emotes of all time in Fortnite is from a musician whose fame has spanned decades, with rapper Eminem getting quite the set in the Fortnite store back during Season OG.

The Real Slim Shady emote was but one of four that came in the Eminem set, with Mask Up and Rap Monster emotes for posing and the Lil’ Shady Mobile for even faster traversal paired in the set along with four skins, three pickaxes, and five gliders. Plenty of other Fortnite players might have the skins and accessorites, but unless they’ve also got this emote equipped, you’ll be the only one standing up,

Uncommon

There are only so many ways you can actually communicate with your teammates in squad games in Fortnite, but if you’re playing solos and need to convey a very sarcastic sense of praise to someone out on the battlefield, then the Slow Clap Fortnite emote, number 23 on the list of the most popular Fortnite emotes of all time, is for you.

It’s not only one of the oldest emotes in Fortnite, having come out at the end of 2017 as the game was beginning to really take off in popularity, but it also comes back through the shop fairly often. Epic is ready to keep you sarcastically giving a round of applause no matter when you started playing.

My World

The My World emote, one of the most popular emotes in Fortnite.

If you were fans of the wildly popular song “Rolex” by Ayo and Teo, then you likely wound up purchasing the Ayo and Teo bundle when it hit the Fortnite Shop in July 2021. The bundled set came not only with a cool wand for a pickaxe, but a staggering three emotes for one low price, which is where plenty of us got My World.

Song

“BOP” by DaBaby

This is the first time we’re seeing a song by rapper DaBaby make an appearance on our list of the most popular Fortnite emotes of all time, but it certainly won’t be the last. The Go Mufasa emote has been in the shop only a handful of times so far since its introduction in November 2020, but it’s a fun dance emote that’s well worth grabbing.

But the Go Mufasa emote is from the “BOP on Broadway” music video version of the song by Mufasa, and even if you end up playing with the sound on your game muted, we bet you’ll be hearing the spirited instrumental to this song and seeing the music video every time you see your character’s fists in the air.

“Domino” by Jessie J

If you’re taking other squads down like they’re dominos in Fortnite, then we bet you’d look great doing this fun dance emote on them with the Dancin’ Domino emote, which is the twentieth most popular Fortnite emote of all time as of when we’re publishing this list. It’s only been in the Fortnite Shop about two dozen times since its release, too, making it fairly rare.

The song playing when you use this emote, 2011’s “Domino” by Jessie J, is actually sped up by quite a bit to make it a little easier and punchier to dance to when you have your avatar do this dance emote for Fortnite.

I’m A Mystery

One of the most popular Fortnite emotes, I'm a Mystery, against a Fortnite background.

If you took part in the paid battle pass back in the very beginning of Chapter Five for Fortnite at the end of 2023, then you’ll probably remember this emote pretty fondly. It was one of the very first rewards you got for the season’s pass when unlocking The Underground set.

This popular Fortnite emote came bundled with a fun new character skin, Hope, who had plenty of unique styles to wear while she showed everyone on the battlefield just who she is. The Underground section of the Battle Pass also offered the chance to unlock three sprays, two skins for your weapons, a music track, and a full set with pickaxe, backpack, and glider.

18

Steady

The Steady emote, one of the most popular emotes in Fortnite.

Another emote that comes from a previous season of Fortnite and its progressive Battle Pass system, the Steady emote is a dance emote from the Icon Series that unlocked on the seventh page of the season’s Pass, so it’s a relatively rarer find.

It’s set to the song “Own Brand Freestyle” by FelixThe1st and it’s got a good flow, so you’ll definitely get other players coming over to emote with you before a round in any public lobby if you end up equipping and using one of the most popular emotes ever added to Fornite.

17

Toosie Slide

The Tootsie Slide emote, one of the most popular emotes in Fortnite.

Public opinion on Drake has shifted pretty severely since the Toosie Slide emote debuted back in May 2020, but we can’t blame you if you also grabbed one of the most popular Fortnite emotes of all time. It’s a dance emote from Fortnite’s impressive list of Icon Series emotes, and it’ll have you and your friends sliding all over public lobby waiting rooms.

While it’s available in the Fortnite shop, it’s not all that common to see it pop back in as one of the few emotes available for sale each day. We’re not sure when it’ll come back, but if you’re still a Drake fan, it’s a good idea to save up some V-Bucks and grab it when it comes back.

16

The Squabble

The Squabble emote, one of the most popular emotes in Fortnite.

“Do it right, do it left, do it right, do it left, do it – ” we bet you’ll be singing the song playing when you hit The Squabble emote in Fortnite for the rest of the day after ready that, just like we have happen every time someone uses this popular Fortnite emoji in our lobbies.

If you’re into becoming the leader of a dance in the lobby while you wait for a new game to begin, your character will skillfully follow the movements given in the song, pairing a fun arm roll with it as they step with the corresponding foot. No matter what skin you’ve got on when you use it, they always look like they’re really feeling this dance emote.
