Where To Find The TM Vendor In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Where To Find The TM Vendor In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

While playing through Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, you’ll begin unlocking several new Side Missions, one of which will lead you to a mysterious secret vendor in a back alley selling TMs. All the TMs for sale are not present anywhere else in the game, and so, this is the only way you can obtain them.

As you might expect, there are several powerful moves for sale for nearly every type of Pokemon, and everything the vendor sells must be purchased with Mega Shards. This vendor will even add a few more valuable items to his shop that weren’t available for sale initially, but only if you come back to see him after you catch Rayquaza.

Where To Find The Secret Back Alley TM Vendor

The secret TM vendor will eventually have a quest leading you to him, but not until after you’ve defeated Rayquaza in the post-game. So, if you hope to find him before that, then you’ll either need to stumble on him by accident or seek him out yourself.

Map location of the secret TM vendor in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

To find the TM vendor, all you need to do is fast-travel to Wild Zone 17. Once you’re standing in front of the gate, head left and take an immediate right where the man with the Snover is standing. Follow the path until you reach the back of the building, and you should find a small, narrow alley with a man standing in it near some garbage.

The man will have a prompt over his head stating, ‘I’ve got some real good stuff here!’ and all you need to do to sift through his inventory is speak to him. He doesn’t accept Pokemon Dollars as currency, only Mega Shards, but those are easy enough to collect in the Hyperspace Distortions.

If you max out the Pink Canari Plush with Racine Construction by collecting Colorful Screws, then you’ll increase the amount of Mega Shards earned when destroying crystals, which could prove very useful throughout the DLC.

Before you purchase something, be sure to double-check whether one of your Pokemon can actually learn that move, so you don’t end up wasting your Mega Shards. For an overview of everything the TM Vendor Sells, please see the table below:

The TM vendor unfortunately doesn’t sell any new moves for Fairy, Dark, or Ghost-type Pokemon.

In addition to the TMs, the vendor also sells Feathers to boost each stat your Pokemon has. Each one has a cost of 60 Mega Shards and will increase your Pokemon’s designated stat by 1 EV. Generally, it’s less tedious to use Vitamins since they boost EVs by 10, but if you’re short on money and have leftover Mega Shards, then it’s not a bad alternative.

As was expected, several Legendary and Mythical Pokemon are waiting for you in the Mega Dimension Post-Game of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

How To Unlock Genesect

Side Mission 191: Collecting Four Drives

Genesect in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

In addition to selling you TMs, this vendor also has a mission for you that only becomes available after you defeat and catch Rayquaza. You should see the mission marker appear on your map, so just head over and talk to him to find out that he’s now selling a few new items.

The new items for sale include four Drives: Douse Drive, Shock Drive, Burn Drive, and Chill Drive. Each one is priced at 540 Mega Shards, so you’ll need over 2,000 Mega Shards to purchase all four of them. Which is what the mission requires of you. The TM vendor would like you to purchase all four Drives. After that, he’ll share some secret information with you.

You can only hold 999 Mega Shards at one time, so you will have to make multiple trips since you won’t be able to save enough to cover it in one trip. So be sure to check whether you’re maxed out already, so you’re not wasting your own time.

A hyperspace Distortion opening in the wall in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

After you purchase the last Drive, the TM vendor will lead you to a Hyperspace Distortion in Wild Zone 13, where you’ll find Genesect inside. You’ll need to battle and catch Genesect in this Hyperspace Distortion, so it’s recommended that you bring a Fire-type Pokemon, since that will be its only weakness. The Genesect will be level 200, so be sure to prepare a 5-Star Donut if you can.

Defeating and catching the Genesect will ultimately complete the Side Mission and add one more Pokemon to your Mega Dimension Pokedex. That said, you can still shop with the TM vendor at any time by tracking him down in the alley.
