Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour finally make their long-awaited Switch debut in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Fans of the franchise without old generation games or a mobile download will finally get to complete their HOME pokedexes with the inclusion of these cute little monkeys.
To help usher the player into finding these helpful little guys, you’ll have to locate all of them in pursuit of one of the most random things ever: making an overpriced cup of tea. Unlike other pokemon in the game, these little ones are not found in any Wild Zones. You’ll have to keep on a constant lookout throughout the city streets and rooftops if you want to find all three.
How To Complete A Pan-Tastic Pot Of Tea
At Cafe Cyclone, you can pick up Side Mission 018: A Pan-Tastic Pot of Tea pretty early on in your story. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to catch all three pre-evolved monkeys and show them to the cafe owner, Servando.
Once you have found all three and shown them, a new beverage (Pantrio Tea) will be added to the Cafe Cyclone menu, and you will receive the following rewards:
- 1,000 Poke Dollars
- x3 HP Up
- x1 White Herb
You cannot show the evolved forms of these monkeys to Servando. If you have accidentally already evolved your monkeys before you talked to the cafe owner, you will have to go out and catch them again.
Where To Find Pansage, Panpour, And Pansear
All three monkeys can appear in the Y-shaped trees around Lumiose City, especially down Autumnal and Hibernal Avenues and in Jaune Plaza. However, weather conditions play a massive factor in which kind of monkey will appear in these trees most frequently.
- Pansage appears under normal weather conditions.
- Pansear appears more frequently under Sunny conditions.
- Panpour appears more frequently under Rain conditions.
All of these monkeys do not run away when spotted, making them easy captures once you have actually located them. Take your time lining up your shot and choosing the right pokeball.
You can catch any monkey in any weather in the trees, and it appears Autumnal Avenue may have an increased chance for Pansear spawns. However, weather events will make certain monkeys more frequent than others.
Beyond the tree method, there are also locations on the rooftops where these monkeys may appear. In fact, Alpha versions of these monkeys will only appear on rooftops. We confirmed Alpha spawns in two locations:
- On the rooftop in Bleu Sector 6, north of the gallery but south of Wild Zone 10.
- On Rouge Street, on the rooftop just west of the Dormez Bien Cemetery and one building north of the Looker Bureau.
The Rogue Street Alpha spawn also comes with multiple other pan-monkeys. This is the best location to catch all three types of monkeys at the same time.
Additionally, other rooftops will have normal wandering spawns. The rooftop above the Bleu Pokemon Center will always have one random monkey.
Rooftops with large trees also have a chance to spawn groups of monkeys. This rare event will have three or four monkeys gathered around eating berries, giving it great potential for you to catch more than one type at once.
