In a story as dreary and grim as Reanimal, a new horror adventure game from the original studio behind Little Nightmares, you’re all but guaranteed to find a few things that bum you out. If you can take the emotional toll, though, opening the coffins you find in Reanimal is the trick to seeing the game’s secret ending.

Find Five Coffins To Unlock Reanimal’s Secret Ending
As you play through Reanimal, you’ll be progressing toward one main canon ending, but it’s not uncommon for games like it to have multiple endings you’ll need to work to unlock. The secret ending of Reanimal is only available to those dedicated enough to spend the game searching for coffins dotted about the horrifying world.
Reanimal Review – An Evolution Of Nightmares
Reanimal is a fantastic evolution of the Little Nightmares formula, with only a couple of hiccups to show for the transition.
They’re all off the beaten path for the story, requiring a keen sense of exploration as you navigate your way through the game’s nine chapters. You’ll interact with them to open them as you find them and see the ghastly spirit of a child emerge, only to be killed in a pretty brutal fashion. Collect each of the coffins to unlock the secret ending of the game.
While plenty of collectibles can be shared across playthroughs, you’ll need to find all five coffins in a single playthrough to unlock the secret ending of Reanimal for that playthrough. Otherwise, you’ll have a helpful hint on where to look on your next run of the game after you see the standard ending instead.

After you’ve reassembled the rail cart at the factory and are able to wheel out of there by using a lever with the two orphans, stop in the grassy area before the cliff that leads into the train yard. Follow the broken rail line to the right of the screen, then cut through the open door in the back-most car. Walk all the way through and leave through the other side onto a further cliff; you can see the coffin while you’re still inside the train. |

When you get the harpoon just outside the hotel, there are a few naval mines in the waters nearby. Find the pair of naval mines and aim at one to blow them both up, opening a new path to a large, circular light. Dock the boat and squeeze through this entrance ahead, then take the stairs all the way down to a lower platform with the second coffin. |

You’ll walk into this room to find a few petrified children lowering a friend of yours down into the pit, the one you saw them lower a pig into when you first got into this part of the clock tower. Take out all three kids, but before you try to raise your friend back up, run toward the camera and enter a room on the left wall a bit further back from the pit. The coffin is on a platform here. |

Here, your main focus is using the canon to take care of the large sea monster in the water, but as you scan, you’ll notice a small cave not far to the right of the monster. Before you go into your newly-cleared path, sail over toward that cave and have a harpoon equipped for the bloated body that attacks. This coffin will be on a small beach just past there in this cave. |

As you navigate the corridor with three soldiers on gurneys who blow themselves to bits after escaping the room full of them that follow you before exploding, you’ll see a wheelchair and hear an explosion. Said explosion blows a hole in the wall next to the wheelchair, so head inside, open the hatch you see here, and climb down a ladder to find the fifth coffin in Reanimal and unlock the secret ending. |
After you’ve gotten each of them and finished the game with the secret ending, you’ll unlock the “Friends Reunited” achievement for all your hard work throughout the game.
