Where To Find A Rotary Encoder In Arc Raiders

Where To Find A Rotary Encoder In Arc Raiders

Data is pretty important for Speranza in Arc Raiders. The citizens of one of humanity’s last bastions of safety rely on data and information from before ARC destroyed the world to continue surviving, whether it’s records for making medicine or construction.

Arc Raiders: The Stench Of Corruption Quest Walkthrough

For the Stench Of Corruption quest in Arc Raiders, you’ll first have to find a Staff Room and then a Flushing Terminal in Spaceport.

With how dangerous ARC is and how hellbent it is on taking out what’s left of humanity, anything strange needs to have data gathered on it to ensure it’s not something to do with them. Seems there’s been some strange lights in the sky recently, and Shani needs help obtaining the right tech to see whether it’s natural or a new threat to be concerned about.

Where To Find A Rotary Encoder And Ion Sputter

For this quest from Shani, your first task is to find a Rotary Encoder, which you’ll need for the next quest objectives, and you can find them in Stella Montis.

They’re a Rare Recyclable from the Exodus Loot category, which means the best place to find them is either the Business Center or the Assembly areas on Stella Montis.

It’s possible to find both the Rotary Encoder and Ion Sputter in the Medical Research area as well, especially in the white drawers, but this area is often highly contested in PVP, making it dangerous.

The Assembly will be the better of the two locations to visit, as it has a lot more lootable items than the Business Center, with one of the most common spots to find a Rotary Encoder being in the rolling tool carts all around the area, and you can also find Ion Sputters in the same place, which you’ll need for the final quest objective.

The best places to find Ion Sputters are also the rolling tool carts and in any of the breachable containers in the Assembly region, but since the Ion Sputter is Epic Rarity, it might take you a few trips to get one, especially if the area’s been looted.

If you need to extract for any reason, you can just take the Rotary Encoder or Ion Sputter with you, then just bring it back to Stella Montis next time you go. They’ll still count for the quest steps as long as you keep them.

If you find the Rotary Encoder while you’ve got the quest active, you’ll be able to complete the next objectives in the quest immediately without extracting.

The server switch you need to find is also located in the Assembly Workshop, and the good thing is that there are multiple locations you can go to. There are two different Server Switches in the control center overlooking the bridges and two in the rooms below it, either near the stairs or the doors.

They’ll be bright yellow and highlighted differently from the other tech around, so they’ll be easy to spot. Make sure the Rotary Encoder is in your inventory, and then interact with any of the server switches in the area to complete that objective.

If you already have an Ion Sputter, you can go ahead and extract, as the last objective is to bring one back to Shani, but if not, keep looking through the Assembly area of Stella Montis.

While Spaceport also has an area with Exodus Loot, the Rotary Encoder and Ion Sputter only spawn at Stella Montis, so you won’t be able to get them elsewhere.

Speak to Shani back at Speranza, and you’ll get your reward: some EXP, five Steel Springs, which are a key material for several weapons Mods, five Wires, and a Tactical MK. 2 Augment.
