Card prices are all over the place for the latest Magic: The Gathering set, Lorwyn Eclipsed. Currently, there are quite a few cards from the main set (foils and non-foils) trending above $50, but when we look at the entire set, there are plenty of cards that have already seen prices tumble from $100+ as the full set release arrives.
While these prices will continue to rise and fall over the coming weeks, one consistent aspect of Lorwyn Eclipsed has been the cards that are holding their value. We’re yet to see any price spikes for random cards, but once the set hits the Standard format, some hidden gems could emerge.
Soul Immolation
Soul Immolation is currently the most expensive card in Lorwyn Eclipsed, trending at $97.50 for its showcase foil variant. However, this price has spiked considerably at the time of writing.
Its daily price is up by over $70, although its weekly price is still down by over $100, showing just how unpredictable prices can be before a set’s official launch.
- Showcase Foil – $97.50
- Base – $5.10
- Foil – $8.69
- Showcase – $8.17
All card prices are taken from active sales via MTG Goldfish and are subject to change in the event of sales being made.
Magic: The Gathering – 10 Most Valuable Sol Rings
Sol Ring is one of the most popular Magic: The Gathering cards around, and there are some pretty pricey ones you can add to your deck.
Bitterbloom Bearer
One of only two cards to feature twice in the top ten most expensive cards so far, Bitterbloom Bearer is a stark contrast to Soul Immolation, as all of its variants are quite expensive right now.
The showcase foil version leads the way at $91.17, but even its base non-foil variant will set you back $37.57, which is curiously more expensive than its foil variant, another pricing quirk we expect to balance out soon.
- Showcase Foil – $91.17
- Base – $37.57
- Foil – $29.99
- Showcase – $69.10
- Serialized Foil – $38.50
Hexing Squelcher
Lauded by some as one of the best cards in Lorwyn Eclipsed, Hexing Squelcher currently costs $85.10 for the showcase foil variant.
The cheapest copy of Hexing Squelcher is $29.63 for the base version, with its two final variants floating around the mid-to-high $30 range.
This card has been projected to be valuable across multiple formats, aiding its value, but it could rise further still if it does, in fact, become a key card across multiple Lorwyn Eclipsed archetypes.
- Showcase Foil – $85.10
- Base – $29.63
- Foil – $33.60
- Showcase – $37.80
If you like the look of certain cards but a set is yet to launch, you can often pre-order singles, but you may pay a higher price for doing so, as the market hasn’t officially determined their demand and subsequent value.
Moonshadow
Moonshadow is the other card to feature in the top ten most expensive Lorwyn Eclipsed cards twice, with its $78.84 showcase foil variant leading the way.
However, Moonshadow also has Japanese art variants, including a stunning fractured foil, which is sure to lead the way on pricing once copies of the card hit the singles market.
- Showcase Foil – $78.84
- Base – $39.97
- Foil – $76.23
- Showcase – $53.49
Eridu, Carrier Of Dawn
Finally, we have Eridu, Carrier of Dawn, which currently costs $54.33 for the borderless foil variant. Eridu doesn’t have any showcase or Japanese art alternatives, meaning the borderless foil is its top variant.
Unlike Moonshadow and Bitterbloom Bearer, there is a considerable gap between the most expensive copy of Eridu and its other variants, although it’s not as extreme as Soul Immolation. The base version of Eridu, Carrier of Dawn, currently costs $12.13, making it the tenth most expensive base set card (non-foil).
- Borderless Foil – $54.33
- Base – $12.13
- Foil – $11.41
- Borderless – $23.92
