In case you hadn’t noticed, The Game Awards is almost upon us once again.
Geoff Keighley’s annual show celebrates the present and the future of the medium, and in about a week’s time, we’ll all be gathered around our screens watching to see what trailers are there, and which new games are announced.
While the trailers and announcements are a very pronounced aspect of The Game Awards, a new video focuses on past winners of the eponymous trophies:
Obviously, The Game Awards is an awards ceremony at its core, positioning itself as a prestigious event where the accolades matter.
Indeed, those who follow games will get quite invested in which games and studios win which awards, especially the all-important Game of the Year gong that closes the show.
What we like about this new video, though, is that it highlights the people, picking out some choice moments and quotes from over the years.
Obviously it’s all marketing fluff, but it serves as a nice reminder that there’s more to the show than just a bunch of trailers.
