The Best Recon Perks In CoD: Black Ops 7

The Best Recon Perks In CoD: Black Ops 7

Summary

  • Recon Perks enable stealth builds and encourage mobility, allowing you to stay unseen by UAVs, streaks, and equipment.
  • Ninja is the standout Tier 1 perk, making your movements dead silent, enabling you to get the jump on the enemy.
  • Cold Blooded and Engineer are top-tier counters to thermal, AI targeting, equipment, and traps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings the fast-paced and nonstop action back with its multiplayer, offering everything you know, love, and expect from the long-running franchise, with Perks being among the most crucial of them. While weapons are the primary focus for most players, Perks come in as a close second, as they allow you to create specific builds that cater to your playstyle.

And, while every Perk category is excellent, the Recon Perks are specifically potent, allowing you to remain out of sight and mind of the enemy, becoming undetectable by their UAV or automated scorestreaks. If you love to move around the map without any care in the world for the enemy or their streaks, then you will likely have most of your Perks come from the Recon category!

Tier 2

Starting things off, we have Vigilance, which is a pretty okay Recon Perk in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, all things considered, but it isn’t what we’d necessarily call a must-have that’s worthy of taking up a slot. Even if it’s a Tier 2 Perk, there are others we’d recommend having equipped over it.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 – Every Field Upgrade, Ranked

There are a total of ten Field Upgrades in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but which one is the best? We tackle that question here!

Granting you a larger mini-map and showing when you’re making noise and appearing on the enemy’s radar are decent. Still, you’d really only run this Perk if you’re running into tons of players using Counter UAVs and Scramblers, as Vigilance makes you completely immune to their effects. And that’s not much of a concern, at least in our experience. It’s a fine Recon Perk, but it takes its spot at the bottom of the list!

Tier 3

Next up, we have the Tracker Recon Perk, which can be pretty potent until everyone is running Cold Blooded, which is likely already the case. Nonetheless, if you find yourself in a lobby where most of the opposing team isn’t using a direct counter to this Perk, you will be able to follow their footprints directly back to them for an easy kill.

The biggest downside to Tracker is that it shares the same Tier 3 slot as Cold Blooded, which makes it not worth it at all. Cold Blooded counters so much of the frustration in this game, including this very Perk, making it sort of useless when it comes down to it. It can be extremely strong, but don’t expect it to be viable most of the time, unfortunately!

Tier 2

Blast Link follows, as it’s another decent Tier 2 Recon Perk that doesn’t offer anything too substantial to place it over the others in its category. This Perk marks enemies on your mini-map when they receive explosive damage from any source, including your Lethal Grenades, Tactical Grenades, or Launchers.

However, what makes this Perk better than Vigilance is that it applies to your teammates, allowing them to also mark opponents on the mini-map via explosive damage, accumulating passive score for you in the process. Running a Cluster Grenade with Blast Link is essentially a mini-UAV if you use it strategically, which can be extremely useful in specific modes. It’s not the best Recon Perk, but it can be terrific when used properly!

4

Engineer

Tier 2

Engineer is arguably the best Tier 2 Recon Perk in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as it allows you to see enemy equipment and scorestreaks through walls, while also making it so you no longer trip enemy traps or mines. This Perk goes hand in hand with the sole identity of a Recon-focused build, and we love it for that.

Pairing Engineer with Ninja, Cold Blooded, and Ghost via the lovely Perk Greed Wildcard is perfect and will make you impossible to track by scorestreaks, equipment, and the enemy’s headset. Engineer outclasses Vigilance and Blast Link by a mile, and it’s not even close. If you want the best Recon Tier 2 Perk, you’re looking at it!

Cold Blooded

Tier 3

Leading the charge of the top three Recon Perks is Cold Blooded, a Perk we touched on quite a bit already. Still, Cold Blooded is an absolute gift in Black Ops 7, as it makes you undetectable by thermal optics and AI targeting scorestreaks, equipment, and Perks. And, in this game, pretty much everything wants to track you or give away your position, making this your permanent Tier 3 Perk.

Cold Blooded is the bread and butter of any stealth-focused build, and will be beneficial to most players in general, as the annoyance of some of the equipment and scorestreaks can be a bit much, and this being a direct counter to that makes it stand as one of the best Tier 3 Perks overall, and certainly the best Recon Perk in its category!

2

Ghost

Tier 1

Speaking of avoiding the annoyances present in Black Ops 7, Ghost is here to keep you off the enemy’s radar as long as you’re moving or playing the objective, making it impossible for UAVs, Scout Pulses, and Proximity Alarms to reveal your position.

If you’ve played the multiplayer even once, you likely saw the enemy call in many UAVs, as it is one of the cheapest and easiest scorestreaks to earn and call in. Unless you have a dedicated teammate who will take down these streaks, you must rely on Ghost to keep your position hidden from the enemy at all costs. Its only downside is that it shares the Tier 1 Recon slot with the best Perk in the game!

1

Ninja

Rank 53

Perk Tier Category

Tier 1

Ninja is arguably the best Perk in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and that’s even including other Perks from other categories and tiers. This Perk is a Tier 1 Recon Perk, and will make all your movements dead silent, allowing you to run around the map with ease, making it near impossible for the enemy to pick you up on their headset and make a read on your flank or aggression.

Utilizing the strengths of Ninja and Ghost together via Perk Greed will make you unbelievably annoying to deal with, as you cannot be picked up on their mini-map and won’t make a sound as you constantly flank and be a thorn in their side. Since everyone and their mother seems to have a headset cranked to the max, Ninja is almost mandatory to run, making it the best of the best!
