Though they’re not typically an option for your starter Pokemon outside of the odd times we see Pikachu in the role, you’ll still find a ton of good Electric-type Pokemon you can catch, train, and use in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its December 2025 DLC, Mega Dimension.
With blazing Speed stats and a variety of powerful Special Attack moves in learn-sets or TMS, you can find plenty of ways to make the best Electric-type Pokemon in Legends: Z-A even more powerful. Whether it’s going Mega or sharpshooting good stats, it’ll shock you how much you’ll love these nine Electric-type Pokemon.

While it might not be the easiest of the Electric-type Pokemon on our list to actually earn and capture in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Zeraora still makes for a wonderfully valuable Electric-type teammate should you get your hands on one this time around!
The Best Catches In Every Wild Zone In Pokemon Legends: Z-A
You should probably still catch ‘em all, of course, but if you have to focus on any of them…
It received a Mega Evolution form with the Mega Dimension DLC that made it even more impressive of an Attacker and Special Attacker than it already had been, and with one of the better Speed stats on our whole list of good Electric-type Pokemon pals, you’ll be moving quickly and hitting hard with this pick.
Heliolisk
Though it’s still without a Mega Evolution form even in the Mega Dimension DLC, we’d still put Heliolisk onto any list of good Electric-type Pokemon for your adventures across Lumiose City. Though it’s got one of the lower stat totals on our list, it’s still a valuable member of any team specializing in Electric attacks.
You’ll be dealing plenty of quick-hitting Special Attack types of moves with your Heliolisk, and with good options in its potential pool of moves like Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Electroweb, any Pokemon that’s weak to the Electric typing is going to hate to see you and your Heliolisk coming their way.

If having a massively impressive Speed stat is important to you on the battlefield, since it means your Pokemon are much more likely to move first in battle, then you’ll struggle to find an Electric-type faster than Manectric, the Discharge Pokemon. And while it’s Mega Evolution form isn’t new in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it’s certainly got a renewed rush of power.
Like most Electric Pokemon, you’ll see that Manectric is a good Special Attacker, with its Special Attack stat tied with its blazing-fast Speed. Build it up with moves like Thunder, Thunderbolt, or Volt Switch to best capitalize on this slew of seriously stupendous stats.

Though Rotom has played a pretty central role in the more modern Pokemon games, with its primary function seeming to be serving as your trainer’s cell phone nowadays, you’d be wise to remember that Rotom is one of the more versatile Pokemon in the whole of the Hyperspace Pokedex in the Mega Dimension DLC, and Electric is but one of its possible typings.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A – The Best Pseudo Legendary Pokemon
Separating the real ones from the fakes.
No matter which form you choose to use for your Rotom, you’ll have a potential type combination that’ll allow you to double down on its Special Attack damage output. The Heat form is a microwave that can use Fire moves, the washing machine of the Wash form uses Water-type moves, Frost Rotom is a refrigerator capable of using Ice moves, its Fan model adds a mix of Flying-type moves, and the Mow Rotom form is a lawnmower that deals impressive Grass damage. Pick your favorite and enjoy the journey with your appliances!
Toxtricity
We usually see the Poison typing paired up with more earth-based Pokemon types, like Grass or Bug, but Toxtricity (and its earliest form Toxel) are some of the more unique Pokemon typings in the series. They return to the game with Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, and you’ll have a whole new way to play with this Punk Pokemon on your team.
Its two types ought to have clued you into it being a Special Attacker, so be sure you’re making good use of its Special Damage moves like Overdrive, Discharge, Acid Spray, and plenty more to shock your enemies and drain their HP slowly but surely as you take them out in the name of victory.

You’ve done enough dealing with Canari throughout the main story in Pokemon Legends: Z-A that you’ll no doubt know about Eelektross and its steady output of shock power before we even tell you, but if you can get your hands on a Tynamo and evolve one of your own, you’ll have one heck of a smooth time using the EleFish Pokemon in battle.
With a new Mega Evolution added in Legends: Z-A, Eelektross spends a good amount of time on center stage throughout the base game’s story. Unlike a lot of other Electric Pokemon, though, Eelektross sees a small advantage in its physical Attacks over Special Attacks, but with both stats so impressive, you really can’t go wrong.

Any Pokemon fan knows who Pikachu is – heck, even people who don’t know much about video games at all can likely point one out to you – but it’s the final form, Raichu, who really takes center stage in Pokemon Legends: Z-A as one of the very best Electric-type Pokemon in the game, no matter which Mega Evolution you’re using.
Raichu is another Pokemon with multiple Megas, with Mega Raichu X focusing primarily on Attack to enjoy dealing damage with moves like Volt Tackle, Spark, and Nuzzle, while Mega Raichu Y is more of a Special Attacker instead and will rely mostly on moves like Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Electroweb instead.

Mareep was probably one of the very first Pokemon you caught when you ventured tepidly into Wild Zone One and learned everything there is to know about the revolutionary new battle system introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but we bet you didn’t know you were catching what’d become one of the very best Electric-types in the whole game.
While Mega Ampharos isn’t a new addition to the Pokemon canon, having debuted back with the Mega Evolution mechanic on the whole in Pokemon X and Y, it’s one of the Pokemon most able to use the sheer power boost given from its Mega Stone. You already had good Special Attack power in its base form, but Mega Ampharos has one of the most impressive Special Attack stats on our entire list of good choices for Electric-type Pokemon.
