The Best Movies to Watch on Netflix Right Now (Feb. 6-13, 2026)

It’s always a good value to subscribe to Netflix, with over 7,000 movies for you to watch. Some are obviously more worthwhile than others, which is why I’ve put on my streaming cap to recommend a few for the week, using metrics like popularity, ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, and personal preference. Your Sunday evening is probably spoken for, but if you can’t get enough football, here are the best gridiron flicks streaming on Netflix this week.

Two For The Money

Do you have any money riding on the Super Bowl? Sports betting is an American obsession, but 2005 drama Two for the Money might make you rethink your parlays. Matthew McConaughey plays a former college football standout who has his career ended by an injury and pivots to handicapping pro games, with massive success. But when he starts to get high on his own supply, his luck begins to turn and he learns that not every bet on yourself can pay off.

  • Director: D. J. Caruso

  • Stars: Al Pacino, Rene Russo, Matthew McConaughey

  • Genre: Drama

  • Rating: TV-MA

  • IMDb Rating: 6.2/10

Elway

The Broncos may have fallen short of the Super Bowl this year, but 2025’s Elway is one of the best documentaries made about the sport. Regarded by many as the best quarterback to ever play the game, John Elway’s career spanned 16 years with Denver, through titanic highs and crushing lows, and the combination of archival footage and exclusive interviews really gets inside his head.

  • Directors: Ken Rogers, Chris Weaver

  • Genre: Documentary

  • Rating: TV-14

  • IMDb Rating: 7.3/10

Home Team

For something a little fluffier, 2022 comedy Home Team reminds us what the game is really all about. Kevin James stars as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, who uses his one-year suspension from the NFL as an excuse to coach his son’s middle school team. It’s the classic Bad News Bears formula, with the squad of B-listers coming together to find their love of the game and a coach learning there’s more to life than winning.

  • Directors: Charles and Daniel Kinnane

  • Cast: Kevin James, Taylor Lautner, Chloe Fineman

  • Genre: Comedy

  • Rating: PG

  • IMDb Rating: 6.0/10

Secret Mall Apartment

For a change of pace, debuting at #10 on Netflix’s top 10 movies this week is Secret Mall Apartment, a quirky documentary about eight young residents of Providence, Rhode Island, who exploited a gap in construction to build a hidden living space in the Providence Place Mall, which they used for four years. Critics have been raving about this one since it hit festivals in 2024, as it combines a goofy premise with some surprisingly deep questions about who owns the space we inhabit. Check it out!
