The Best Mods For My Winter Car

The Best Mods For My Winter Car

My Winter Car can be really tough. You start without any instructions or tutorials that explain anything. Your character has many needs that can kill you if you leave them unattended — in only a matter of minutes! Plus, the game has many bugs, which can end in unexpected deaths.

If you’re looking for the expected experience, that’s great. If you’re finding it unnecessarily hard and arbitrary, we have a solution for you: mods. Mods can drastically alter how any game works, or just tweak a few things that will ease your frustration. That’s why we have gathered this list of the best mods for My Winter Car.

MWC CheatBox

Let’s start with the ultimate mod. MWC CheatBox is exactly what it sells you, and it lets you alter pretty much everything in the game. Do you want to spawn with millions of Markka and avoid losing your time in a job? Check. Free teletransportation to anywhere you want? Check. Skip the time you need to wait for repairs, receiving packages, and any other time-consuming elements of the game? You got it!

Basically, enable God mode with this mod, as you can also change all the stats you need and avoid death or problems. It will take much of the game’s point, but who are we to judge? Feel free to adapt the experience to whatever you want.

My Winter Car Savegame

Lots of parts on a big table inside a garage in My Winter Car. by Aleks on Nexus Mods.

If you really want to focus on restoring your old vehicle, but you hate the part of getting the individual car parts, Aleks has your back: with this mod, you’ll have a save with all the parts that you need to restore the vehicle. They will be in your parents’ house garage, organized on the table and the different furniture. You’ll be free to start the tough task of building your own working vehicle right away.

Assembled Rivett

A fully restored vehicle inside a garage in My Winter Car. by GlebZamay on Nexus Mods.

You tried building your vehicle, but it didn’t work out, and you don’t want to lose any more time. Of course, there was going to be a mod with a save that has a fully assembled Corris Rivett, ready to take out for the road.

In fact, there are many, many already restored vehicles if you surf through the Noxus Mods section for this game. They all have different features, but we selected this one because it’s one of the most liked ones and works perfectly.

Noclip

My Winter Car Beginner Tips Guide (5)

If you have to walk, you will notice that (expectedly) you don’t move too fast on foot. That’s why you have your Sorbett parked right outside your department, so you can complete errands and reach places much faster. But using this vehicle has its own series of issues and possible dangers, and it will still take you a while to reach the farther away locations.

This is where Noclip comes into action. If you’re tired and you want to reach a place faster and without worrying about a possible death in the way, install this mode, press CTRL + N, and start flying over these freezing lands. You can even get inside buildings without using the doors!

Object Grabber

Grabbing a vehicle and moving it in the air in My Winter Car. by TurkyVr6 on Nexus Mods.

Something I personally had a lot of issues with is just grabbing small objects. It turns out, if you’re not close enough, you might not see the prompt to grab what you want, making you crouch and use the Reach button. This is really annoying, and it gets worse with occasional bugs that will prevent you from grabbing anything at all, regardless of your position.

Fortunately, TurkyVr6 fixed this issue and elevated the bar while doing so. If you get your car stuck on the road and can’t get it out of it, don’t worry: you can now move it with both hands by using this mod. It basically lets you grab anything and makes it easier with what you could already grab before.

New Optimization Plugin

Your expected optimization mod, which will help your PC run My Winter Car a bit better. It’s not a heavy game by any means, but if your PC is old, it will give you a hand. After all, we will need all the extra FPS we can get while trying to drive on these dangerous and snowy roads.

This is still a work in progress, so check the page for updates and newer versions.

Immersive Taxi Map

Looking at a detail map inside the taxi in My Winter Car. by fanteeek on Nexus Mods.

You can apply for multiple jobs in My Winter Car, but if you like driving, working as a taxi driver might be the best one for you. You get to be driving all the time and interacting with NPCs. However, as with much of aspects of the game, the job doesn’t tell you much; you have a rough sketch of the region’s map, and you need to know the locations to meet your passengers and bring them to their destination.

Not anymore with this mod by fanteeek. Now you can check a better map (similar to the one in your house), and what’s better, it will mark where you need to pick up people and where you need to drop them with pins.

MCW Localization Core

Looking at an ATM in Chinese in My Winter Car. by potatosalad775 on Nexus Mods.

If you don’t know Finnish, you have been missing a lot in the game. While there are subtitles and simple translations for a few things, doing simple things like paying for fuel or ordering parts requires you to interact with Finnish menus. Fortunately, potatosalad775’s creation fixes this by letting you add different languages, such as Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and more.

SAW – Save AnyWhere

Two NPCs looking at three racing cars on a track in My Winter Car. by NORTCHOT on Nexus Mods.

Normally, to be able to save in the game, you need to go to your apartment or your parents’ house bathroom. You interact with the toilet, and can rest assured that all your progress (and problems) were saved. This works like this for a reason, but it can get frustrating pretty fast — sometimes, you need to stay away from both houses for long periods of time, and anything can go wrong at any second.

Forget about all the trouble with SAW, the mod that lets you save by just pressing F5. It will change your in-game life.

Enhanced Subtitles

Looking at a phone on a chair with extended subtitules in My Winter Car. by Maceeiko development on Nexus Mods.

Whenever you have a call or a chat with an NPC, you only get a subtitle about the first one or two lines. This is usually all the relevant info that you need to know, but then… what about those phone calls that go on for minutes? What is the character saying in their language? Are there jokes, story bits, or anything interesting at all?

Well, Enhanced Subtitles fixes that by adding all the available dialogue lines to the rest of the subtitles. Prepare to learn every tiny detail you have missed so far.

While this mod started as a generated-AI project, it has been corrected and updated with a Finnish native speaker.
