The Best Fire Pokemon In Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension

The Best Fire Pokemon In Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension

Pokemon fans have always felt the heat when it comes to going up against Fire-types, and in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll find no shortage of fiery friends to catch, train, evolve, and bring along on your adventures across Lumiose City from the Kalos region in generation six.

There are dozens of Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A between the base game and the Mega Dimension DLC, but which ones are going to prove to be most worth your efforts? You’ll find plenty of Pokemon with weaknesses to the might of Fire-types, so it’s best to grab these Fire-type Pokemon early.

Talonflame

Even if we’re a little sour that the Scorching Pokemon was left off the list of ‘mon that got Mega Evolutions added in both Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the DLC for Mega Dimensions, we’re still big fans of Talonflame even if it’s not able to go Mega (yet – we’re not losing hope!).

You should probably still catch ‘em all, of course, but if you have to focus on any of them…

If you’re looking for a safe, stable, early-game Fire type to help flesh out your teams (especially if you didn’t choose Tepig as your starter for your Lumiose adventure), then Talonflame is a good bet! Capture any Fletchling around the city and level it up into one of the fierces Fire/Flying dual-type Pokemon you could hope to have.

Armarogue

If you’re one of the many Pokemon fans who fell in love with the Charcadet evolution line recently in the Scarlet and Violet titles, then you’re no doubt eager to see them return in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A as well. Work to capture a Charcadet from one of the Dimensional Rifts and evolve it into Armarouge to enjoy the dual-type Fire/Psychic Pokemon.

The type combination means you’ll be dealing a lot of Special Attack damage, so it’s wise to try and hone those stats for your Armarouge whenever possible. Be sure to give it Plus Moves to help it pack an even more powerful (psychic) punch!

Ceruledge

Armarouge and Ceruledge in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

If you’d rather turn that hard-earned Charcadet into a Ghost dual-type instead of a Psychic one, then you’ll instead be able to evolve it into Ceruledge and enjoy the ghastly greatness it brings to the battlefield. While Armarouge wins out in terms of defensive capabilities, offensive players may want to lean more into Ceruledge instead.

Though it doesn’t get a Mega Evolution form here, we’re still not going to pass up its power. It’s a physical Attacker over Special Attacks, so keep this distinction in mind as you build up its moveset with strong options like Flare Blitz, Bitter Blade, and more. Your dual stack of immunities to Normal and Ground moves certainly can’t hurt, either!

  • Sp. Atk: 175
  • Sp. Def: 110

  • Total: 620

We always love seeing how the Pokemon Team comes up with creative ways to blend typings, so seeing a Fire and Ghost-type in Chandelure is always a treat – as long as you’re not on the other side of the battlefield, that is. The Luring Pokemon received a Mega Evolution form in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and it’s packed with power.

Grab Chandelurite from Quasartico Inc. Headquarters after hitting Rank D in the Z-A Royale upon defeating Ivor for the honor (you likely caught a Litwick down in the Sewers below Lumiose City, anyway), and double down on finding a Dusk Stone so you can use one of the best Fire-type Pokemon in Legends: Z-A as soon as possible.

It’s always interesting when Pokemon have typings that would kind of make them weak to themselves, in theory, but Scovillain returns from the last Pokemon generation to make another fiery splash, this time with a new Mega Evolution form that’s sure to scare.

You’ll need to fight this picante Pokemon as a rogue battle in a dimensional rift before you can claim its peppery power, but once you’ve defeated it, captured it, and grabbed the Scovillainite that’ll help you invoke the same mighty power, you’ll have all kinds of good perks coming from the Spicy Pepper Pokemon.

After you’ve helped the sickly Fennekin as one of the Side Missions when you first arrive in Lumiose City and lose the handrails that come with playing out the tutorial of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it’ll eagerly join your party in exchange for the efforts, and you’ll earn yourself a powerful new Pokemon pal for the efforts.

Evolve your Fennekin all the way to its final form of Delphox, and you’ll enjoy a more unique type combination with its dual Fire and Psychic types. It all but means you’re locked into being a Special Attacker, but with such impressive base stats, that’s probably not going to be a problem for you and Delphox even before you have it evolve into its Mega form.

Everyone loves an adorable little Fire starter in Pokemon games, but it’s not surprising to see them grow up into fearsome forms in their final evolution, and that’s where you’ll find Tepig’s final form, Emboar. What it loses in cuteness as it evolves, though, it more than makes up for in outright might.

This Fire/Fighting type can potentially be with you from the very beginning of your second jaunt into Kalos here in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, should you have chosen Tepig at the beginning of the game, and that means Emboar will be one of your very first experiences with using Mega Evolution to make your Pokemon pack an even more powerful punch/

Added in the Mega Dimensions DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A were several of the other starters from iconic generations of Pokemon games, and everyone’s favorite Fire and Fighting dual-type chicken Pokemon is back again to continue kicking some butt on the battlefield.

Once you’ve earned your stripes and caught a Blaziken of your own, you’ll have one of the most iconic dual-type Pokemon there is. It’s the one that cemented the standard Fire/Fighting final starter evolution that we only occasionally seem to break from in mainline Pokemon games, but if you’re looking for a good balance between hot fire and hot moves, look no further.

The original Fire starter, Charizard has been and likely will remain one of the very best Fire-type Pokemon like no one ever was. It’s been a fierce fighter since the very first generation of games, and should you choose a Charmander from the Side Mission where Mable gives you a Kanto starter, you’re on your way to one of the best.

Not only is Charizard powerful in its usual base form, but it’s got two distinct Mega Evolution forms in Charizard X and Charizard Y. If you’re looking to double down on Special Attack and stay primarily using Fire moves, Charizard Y might be your best bet, since Charizard X specs more into the physical Attack stat instead.
