Whenever a gacha game like Arknights: Endfield gets released, one of the first questions on everyone’s mind is how good some characters are. These games usually let you have one or two random characters from the highest rarity for free, but your account’s direction can depend on which character you get.
While most characters can easily help you through the early game, only a few of them can handle their own as the enemies become tougher and you take part in the endgame. To keep up with this difficulty, it’s important to focus on the best characters you have on your account.
Basis Of This Tier List
When it comes to a game like Arknights: Endfield where characters are divided into different roles, weapon types, and Arts (elements), the tier list is ever-changing. Some characters might feel good in the early game, but fall off because of their low damage and utility as the enemies get harder.
Some characters might just not feel good yet but get better as more characters get released to the game. With that in mind, this tier list focuses on the broader aspects of each character and what they can provide to the team. It weighs in the cost of using the character and the impact they have on the combat.
For example, if two characters have the same effects but one of them has it on their battle skill and the other on their combo skill, the latter will be the better character.
This is mainly because combo skills are free while the battle skills consume your Skill Points.
With that in mind, we’ve divided the tier list into four different tiers, and here’s what each one represents:
Tier |
Description |
|---|---|
S+ Tier |
This tier involves the best characters in the game that can easily let you beat the endgame. The damage or utility they provide to the team is uncontested. You’ll usually see chartered banner characters here, but some can appear from other banners. |
S Tier |
The characters on this tier are still excellent at clearing all types of content, but they have a little bit more downside compared to the S+ characters. |
A Tier |
The third tier involves all the characters that feel very good to play during the early game, but they slowly fall off with time. These also feel like the characters that can be powercrept easily. |
B Tier |
Finally, this tier includes some of the characters that just don’t provide as much value to the team, considering the cost to use their abilities and the team slot they take. |
Arknights: Endfield – All Currencies And How To Get Them
Arknights: Endfield has a bunch of different currencies that you’ll have to farm for different reasons, and here’s what they all do.
All S+ Tier Characters
Here are all the S+ tier characters and why they’re so good in the game:
Name |
Picture |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Laevatain |
Laevatain is undoubtedly the best character at launch simply because she excels at the damage output regardless of whether you’re facing multiple enemies or just one boss. She also feels very easy to use because her best team involves all characters that are either free or easy to get. |
Gilberta |
Gilberta undoubtedly has some of the best utility in Arknights: Endfield as she can pull enemies together, apply inflictions, and susceptibility to them. |
Ardelia |
Ardelia is surprisingly good considering she’s a free six-star character that you can get from daily login. The main reason for this is that she’s self-sufficient. She can apply corrosion and use it at the same time to apply susceptibility to the enemies, which increases team-wide damage. Apart from that, she also sustains the team. |
Pogranichnik |
If you’ve taken part in the combat of Arknights: Endfield, you’ll already understand how difficult it is to manage your skill points and not run out of them. Pogranichnik is the perfect character to prevent this as he can recharge a ton of SP with all his abilities. |
All S Tier Characters
Here are all the characters that are still generally good at the game, but fall slightly below the best units:
Name |
Picture |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Antal |
Being a four-star, Antal holds a respectable position in the tier list due to the paramount buffs that he can provide. He can provide both Susceptibility and Amp to Electric and Heat arts, which makes him a staple for those teams. |
Last Rite |
Last Rite is one of the best characters you can pull in the Standard banner as she can work as a phenomenal DPS for your account. She does have a high requirement for Cryo Inflictions, but it can be solved by using the right teammates. |
Yvonne |
Yvonne is the only chartered banner character in 1.0 that’s not in S+ tier, and that’s mainly because of the single-target nature of her kit. Most of the times you’re in combat, you’ll be fighting multiple enemies, and her Ultimate becomes very awkward to use in these cases. |
Lifeng |
Lifeng is arguably one of the best units to use alongside Physical DPS characters as he can apply a bunch of Vulnerable to the enemy. Other than that, if used correctly, he also applies Physical Susceptibility on the enemies and deals respectable damage. |
Endministrator |
The main character of Arknights: Endfield is surprisingly good, and mainly revolves around putting enemies in Originium Crystals and breaking them. They can easily carry you through the early game if you have the right characters, and still be decent in the late game. |
Avywenna |
Not everyone can have six-star DPS units on their account, and Avywenna is the perfect character for them. She also takes a bit more skill than other characters since you need to pay attention to her positioning, making her one of the most fun characters to use. |
All A Tier Characters
These characters are still usable, but might be easy to powercreep in the future:
Name |
Picture |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Ember |
While Ember does have decent utility in her kit, it mostly revolves around your team getting attacked, which is generally not a good aim in battle. If her Ultimate did a bit more than just shielding the team, she could be in a better place. |
Fluorite |
If you’re building a team for Cryo and Nature Infliction, Fluorite can easily be the staple character in them as she can apply a ton of these inflictions. The only issue is her reliance on other characters to apply these Inflictions. |
Da Pan |
Da Pan can deal a ton of damage to the enemies once they have four stacks of Vulnerability, but Endministrator can do better in most situations. However, if you like this character, he can hold his own in most battles. |
Akekuri |
As mentioned before, SP regeneration is one of the most important roles in Arknights: Endfield, and Akekuri is one of the best F2P options for this. |
Wulfgard |
Wulfgard is an odd character as he can be great for applying Heat Infliction to the enemies, but some of his abilities are also for selfish use. Generally, you’d want to use him as a support, which forces you to ignore a part of his kit. |
Xaihi |
Xaihi has a ton of utility in her kit if you’re building a Cryo team as she can apply Cryo Infliction and provide Amp to her team for Cryo and Nature. |
Estella |
While Estella has a bunch of Infliction application in her kit, she only does great if your team is a combination of Physical and Cryo units, which is usually very niche. |
Alesh |
Alesh can be a great teammate for Endministrator, and he can also be a decent SP regenerating unit for the team in general. |
Chen Qianyu |
Chen Qianyu is great for applying multiple Physical status effects on the enemy, and she’s one of the best teammates to have for a Physical team. |
All B Tier Characters
Finally, it’s quite difficult to get good value from these characters since they simply don’t have enough utility for the endgame:
Name |
Picture |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Arclight |
While Arclight is good for Electric teams, there just aren’t a lot of Electric characters in the high rarity at the moment. Moreover, the amount of times she needs to use her Skill to activate her bonus ability makes her too costly on the SP. |
Perlica |
Perlica feels great in the early game as she can nuke enemies with her Ultimate, but outside of Endministrator, she doesn’t provide a lot in other teams. |
Snowshine |
While Snowshine is a decent healer, she lacks utility in the team since her Skill relies on parrying the enemy’s attack. |
Catcher |
Catcher is arguably the hardest character to get value from in Endfield as he only provides shield for the most part. His Ultimate also has the Weaken effect, which lowers the enemy’s damage, but that isn’t very useful once you get used to the combat. |
