Drew Ferguson has been obsessively discussing games, movies, comic books, and book-books his entire life. Somewhere along the way, he learned the dark art of putting words in an order that (some) people find cool, formally known to the world as writing. It’s a skill that’s led him down many different roads, some dark and some light, gaining secret powers and forbidden knowledge. Since then, he’s written many things, like comic books (MALICENT BLACK, SAM AND HIS TALKING GUN, with more to come), book-books (THE BLEEDING CITY, with more to come), and currently writes many a thing for TheGamer. His journey through this world is still in its beginning, and while there are other worlds than these, he’s still looking forward to seeing all of the secrets this world holds.
Path of Exile 2 has seen a lot of balancing patches, and with the start of a new League, many people are going to start rolling with new characters. With a new character comes new possibilities, and many may be looking to run an entirely new build to switch things up.
But if you end up running a build that doesn’t quite have the power to make it the distance, or else is just lacking in damage enough to slow you down, it can make for a rough start to the season. Some builds are just better (or at least most consistent) than others; if you’re looking to start moving in the right direction in the early going, these are some starting builds that will help.
Best Builds For League Start
Rather than hyper-focusing on specific builds for the start of the league, we’ll focus on Classes and Ascendancies that make for good options, and explore a few of the options present in them.
This will give you a glimpse at what you can do with your builds as you develop them, and provide a good foundation in the early going and some goalposts for what you might want to use in the late-game.

The combination of Judge, Jury, and Executioner and Pitiless Killer provides a lot of free damage at the front-end and back-end of an enemy’s health bar, essentially erasing the beginning and middle of their health bars at the beginning and end of a fight. |

Sorcery Ward is capable of providing a ton of defensive help, especially if you include Ceremonial Ablution, which enables it to protect against chaos damage and physical damage, as well. Without this, the close-range nature of this build can get you into trouble. |

Huntress (Ritualist) |
This build can focus heavily on the bleed effect, combined with a big focus on mobility with skills like Rake, Disengage, and Thunderous Leap. Rake in particular uses both mobility and bleeding. However, Rake will not be available in the very beginning, and instead you’ll need to make do with abilities like Explosive Spear and Whirling Slash. |

Combined with your ability to move quickly, this build can maim enemies in multiple different ways, including with Spearfield. This makes enemies move slower, further emphasizing the speed gap between you and them. |

Bloodhound’s Mark causes a heavy stun when an enemy has suffered from enough blood loss, which perfectly combines with abilities that cause bleed. |

This build basically creates an impossible bullet-hell game for your enemies to deal with, sending damage flying across the screen. Exploding |
