The 11 Most Anticipated Games Coming Out In March 2026

2026 has already had a few interesting releases, and the year is only starting. And while most of the big hits tend to come later on, March still has a few aces up its sleeves that might be worth checking out, whether you intend to buy right away or wait for a nice discount to pop up down the line.

For your options, you’ll see solo adventures through gigantic worlds, online experiences with your friends, franchises returning from the grave, and Pokémon, which require no introductions. We haven’t had our hands on these games, so we are speculating which ones will be good, but let’s talk about our best bets for this month.

Legacy Of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Release Date: March 3

Raziel wields the Wraith Blade in Legacy of Kain Defiance.

  • Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance is an old one now, released in 2003. It’s also the last entry in the series if you don’t count remasters (though that will change here in March). Now, you get to re-live the experience (or go through this dark adventure for the first time) with a remastered version of the game!

Video Game Release Dates 2026

From indie titles to triple-A giants, we’ve got all the release dates for games coming out in 2026. We’ve even included TCG and tabletop.

As a plus, Legacy of Kain will get a 2D retro game released on March 31, so you can get both the remaster of the last adventure and then a new one to continue right away!

Marathon

Release Date: March 5

An assassin runner, from Marathon.

  • Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

If you’re looking for new experiences to kill your friends online (or be killed by them), Marathon is a great option. The game is developed by Bungie, responsible for Destiny and Halo, so it knows what it’s doing when it comes to shooters.

The game received some criticism during its alpha, but Bungie seems to have taken feedback to heart and improved upon it, and if the recent success of Arc Raiders is anything to go by, there’s clearly an appetite for fresh new shooters, so it could be a big winner if it hits the right notes.

A little trivia for you: Despite the name, this is the fourth entry in the Marathon series.

9

Pokemon Pokopia

Release Date: March 5

Ditto running towards a Leafeon in an orchard, from Pokemon Pokopia.

  • Platform: Nintendo Switch 2

First of all, you play this game as a Ditto. If that’s not convincing enough, Pokopia offers a fresh take on the series, as it’s focused on copying other Pokemon abilities for your Ditto to create and build your world — Pokemon with some Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Viva Pinata flavorings.

Once you get lots of Pokemon in your land, you can also show off to your friends, as you can play this game in multiplayer. Invite people to your crib or visit your friends’ place and tell them how much better your place is! Either way, this game shows the series in a new, unique way, and we hope this one will be an excellent cozy game.

8

Slay The Spire 2 (Early Access)

Release Date: March 5

The Silent and the Ironclad fighting a monster, from Slay The Spire 2.

  • Platform: PC (Full game is expected on consoles)

Do you enjoy roguelike games? Well, what about card games? That seems an odd combination at first, but Slay The Spire decided to put these things together in a dungeon-crawl type of game, and they absolutely nailed it with a powerful and fun game.

And now, you get to go at it again, in an upgraded version of the game with Slay The Spire 2. Face perilous dangers, die over and over, and prepare the right deck to slay everything you find in your path. The original experience is too fun to ignore its sequel.

7

Planet Of Lana 2: Children Of The Leaf

Release Date: March 5

Lana looking at a deer in Planet of Lana 2.

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, NintendoSwitch

March 5 is proving to be quite the day, huh? Instead of cozy, shooters, or whatnot, you can choose to challenge yourself with intricate puzzles as you venture through the world to understand its mysteries in Planet of Lana 2.

Here, you can experience a gorgeous 2D world and a beautiful narrative by playing as Lana and solving the aforementioned puzzles and mysteries with the help of Mui, and apparently, they’ve become more challenging compared to the original (which we also recommend, by the way).

6

Ghost Of Yotei: Legends

Release Date: March 10

The Snake, from Ghost of Yotei: Legends.

Ghost of Yotei was released in 2025, proving itself to be a worthy successor of Ghost of Tsushima. Alas, there was a missing piece in the game, as it lacked the multiplayer mode Tsushima had to offer. That will change soon, however.

Legends features four-player missions against demonic versions of the main game’s antagonists, the Yotei Six. With that, we can also see that there will be new modes compared to Tsushima Legends. If you loved the game or are a big fan of hack ‘n’ slash games, this is definitely worth checking out — we don’t get many multiplayer hack ‘n’ slash games, after all.

5

Solasta 2 (Early Access)

Release Date: March 12

Deorcas Colwall, from Solasta 2.

  • Platform: PC (Full game is expected on consoles)

Did you enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3? Well, BG3 is not the only game to use D&D 5th edition mechanics in a video game format. Solasta did that a while back, and its sequel, Solasta 2, continues the adventure, using the 2024 rules of D&D in its mechanics.

Soon, we’ll be able to play its early access, where you get to create your party and venture through hours of the game. Your options will be a bit limited, with only some of the classes and species D&D tends to offer, but the full game is expected to have all the main classes and more species. For now, you can see what to expect in the future.

4

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake

Release Date: March 12

Mayu surrounded by red butterflies at night in Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2

If you dare to engage with horror games, we have one more gem from the past making its grand return in March. Similar to Kain, the franchise has been in a limbo for a while and living off remasters, but now it’s getting a proper remake with Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

Fatal Frame’s skills at horror are legendary, and a proper remake of one of its most popular releases is guaranteed to make you so scared, you’ll second-guess your life choices for buying the game.

3

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Release Date: March 13

The protagonist and Rathalos in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2

If you’re looking for RPGs, Monster Hunter is here. Unlike the main games in the series, Stories offers a turn-based RPG experience, while also focusing on exploration and its narrative.

From the previews multiple people have shared, the game seems to be quite an upgrade compared to the other Monster Hunter Stories, in both gameplay and storytelling, making this one worth your attention if you’re into RPGs and need a new one to spice things up.

2

Crimson Desert

Release Date: March 19

Kliff fighting an enemy, in Crimson Desert.

  • Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S

Of all the games in this list, this might be the one you should pay the most attention to. With a focus on action, adventure, exploration, and combat, this game is promising everything it can, which means it’ll either be a masterpiece or a flop — but hey, let’s be optimistic.

Now, even if this game seems to have too much going on, everything shown so far makes us believe it’ll be a great time, and one we’ll definitely check out when available. Plus, the fact that the game offers a lot of things means you’ll likely have fun with at least a few of the mechanics it has to offer.
