Earlier this week, it was announced that Starfield will be coming to PlayStation 5 next month, bringing an end to the game’s console exclusivity and opening up the game to more players than ever. However, when it comes to Xbox going multiplatform, it’s been very keen to launch games on Nintendo’s systems as well, which really does beg the question — why isn’t Starfield on Switch 2 yet?
Well, it was reported earlier this year by a reliable insider known as Shinobi602 that there was a strong possibility that Starfield “might not even come out at all” on Nintendo Switch 2, claiming that Bethesda was “having problems with it.” What with other actually announced Switch 2 ports like Borderlands 4 getting scrapped, the fate of Starfield on Switch 2 has been up in the air for quite a while.
Don’t Worry, Starfield Is Still Seemingly Coming To Switch 2
With the game now officially confirmed for PS5, the only platform left for Starfield to be ported to is Nintendo Switch 2, meaning that fans have now been asking for an update. Thankfully, another fairly reliable insider called Nate the Hate was more than happy to provide some information, claiming that the game is still in development and hasn’t been scrapped.
That being said, he doesn’t give many reassurances either. Nate goes on to claim that the process of bringing the game to Nintendo Switch 2 hasn’t been a smooth one, and asks fans to simply “cross fingers and hope for the best.” Not exactly the most encouraging thing to hear if you’re hoping for the port to drop one day, but I guess all we can really do is wait and hope Bethesda gets it right.
