Lead developers come and go from video game projects all the time, but as part of Sony’s troubled live service efforts on PS5, the optics surrounding the departure aren’t encouraging. Many of the first-party Games as a Service in the works at PlayStation have been cancelled prior to release, or quickly taken offline in the case of Concord. Meanwhile, Bungie still plans to put out Marathon, but it has been hit by a wave of plagiarism accusations.
For now, Fairgames remains in development publicly, but many feel the writing is on the wall for the co-op heist project.
From people who say they’ve played the game via a pre-alpha build, Fairgames is described as a “Battle Royale crossed with an extraction shooter”, including elements from The Division and Fortnite. Back in May, it was said to be “super clunky” to play.
Do you think Fairgames will receive a PS5, PC release eventually? Let us know in the comments below.
