The chances of a new Banjo-Kazooie game, or even just a remake, releasing in the next few years appear close to zero, so you’ll need to source your collectathons from elsewhere. Yooka-Replaylee, a remake of the PS4 original title Yooka-Laylee, may scratch your itch.
Playtonic has shared the PS5 remake will launch on 9th October 2025 for £24.99 / $29.99 digitally, or $49.99 physically.
Buying a boxed copy grants you “enhanced packaging” as well as “bonus goodies” found only in the retail version. If you already own the game on PS4, you’ll get a 30% discount on the launch price.
Yooka-Replaylee takes the base game and enhances it in many different ways, including new story moments, entirely new minigames and platforming challenges, another type of collectible to find, improved resolutions and performance, and updated controls and a better camera.
Studio director Gavin Price called the package “bigger, brighter, bolder, and packed with all the little touches we always dreamed of. We can’t wait for players to jump in”. You can also look forward to new features like a completely new map and a collectibles tracker. Even the soundtrack has been enhanced, as Grant Kirkhope and David Wise’s work has been arranged as an orchestral score.
